GeorgiaHennessy,leadauthoroftheresearch,saidthatonepossiblereasonforthewind

causinghesitancywasthatsmallincreasesinwindspeedsreducedthebees*bodytemperature,

sotheyrequiredlongertimetowarmuptheflightmusclesrequiredtotakeoff.

"Withwindspeedspredictedtoincreaseintheyearsahead,understandinghowwecan

helpbeesinachangingclimateisbecomingevermorepressing.Althoughwecan'tdomuch

tocontrolorstopthewind,wecantakestepstoreduceitsimpactonbees,suchasplacing

hivesinshelteredlocations,0saidHennessy.
