TextAnalysis:Thetextisaimedtodiscusstheadvantagesanddisadvantagesofonlinefriendship.Bycomparingthedifferencebetweenmakingfriendsinthepastandatpresent,theauthorraisesaquestion,namely“whenyou'friend'peopleonline,doesthismeanthattheyareyourrealfriends?”.Byobjectivelypresentingtheadvantagesanddisadvantagesoffriendingonline,theauthorcallsonreaders“donot
throwthebabyoutwiththebathwater".
