基本用法引述別人的話語一般采用兩種方式:一種是直接引述別人的原話,把它放在引號內(nèi),這叫直接引語;另一種是用自己的話轉(zhuǎn)述別人的話,叫間接引語。間接引語相當(dāng)于一個(gè)賓語從句。直接引語是祈使句,變?yōu)殚g接引語時(shí),要變?yōu)閍sk/tell/ordersb(not)todosht.結(jié)構(gòu)。人稱、時(shí)間狀語、地點(diǎn)狀語應(yīng)按要求作相應(yīng)變化。如:1.Theteachersaidtous,“Startwritingnow.”Theteacherorderedustostartwritingthen.2.“Pleasedon'tdisturbme,”hesaidtotheboy.Heaskedtheboynottodisturbhim.3.OurEnglishteachersaid,“Bringyouroldclothestoschooltomorrow.”O(jiān)urEnglishteachertoldustobringouroldclothestoschoolthenextday.

基本用法人稱的變化在直接引語中,代詞要隨句意進(jìn)行改變。大致遵循“一隨主,二隨賓,第三人稱不更新”的規(guī)律,即第一人稱一般要變得與引述部分的主語一致;第二人稱一般要變得與引述部分的賓語一致;第三人稱一般不改變。如:Hesaid,“Ilikeitverymuch.”-----Hesaidthathelikeditverymuch.?HesaidtoMrs.Green,“Howdoyougotoworkeveryday?”----HeaskedMrs.Greenhowshewenttoworkeveryday.?Myfathersaid,“Jackisagoodneighbor.”----MyfathersaidthatJackwasagoodneighbor.時(shí)態(tài)的變化1.如果主句的謂語動(dòng)詞是一般現(xiàn)在時(shí),從句的時(shí)態(tài)則無需變化。主句的謂語動(dòng)詞是一般過去時(shí),從句的謂語動(dòng)詞在時(shí)態(tài)方面要作相應(yīng)的變化。如:
Hesaid,“Iamusingtheknife.”---Hesaidthathewasusingtheknife.(現(xiàn)在進(jìn)行時(shí)--過去進(jìn)行時(shí))Shesaid,“IhavenotheardfromhimsinceMay.”---ShesaidthatshehadnotheardfromhimsinceMay.(現(xiàn)在完成時(shí)--過去完成時(shí))Hesaid,“Icametohelpyou.----Hesaidthathehadcometohelpme.(一般過去時(shí)--過去完成時(shí))2.時(shí)態(tài)不需要變化的情況(1).直接引語是客觀真理、自然現(xiàn)象或名言警句時(shí)。如:OurEnglishteachersaid,“AllworkandnoplaymakesJackadullboy.”---OurEnglishteachertoldusthatallworkandnoplaymakesJackadullboy.我們的英語老師告訴我們,只顧學(xué)習(xí)不休息,聰明孩子也變傻。(2).
直接引語中有確定的過去時(shí)間時(shí)。如:Tonysaid,“Thestorytookplaceinthe1930s.”----Tonysaidthatthestorytookplaceinthe1930s.(3).
直接引語時(shí)習(xí)慣性行為時(shí)。如:Hesaid,“Iusuallygotobedat10:30.”---Hesaidheusuallygoestobedat10:30.(4).
只著眼于轉(zhuǎn)述事實(shí),而不側(cè)重動(dòng)作先于轉(zhuǎn)述動(dòng)作的時(shí)間時(shí)。如:Theboysaid,“Ifoundthekeyjustunderthetable.”----Theboysaidhefoundthekeyjustunderthetable.(5).
所轉(zhuǎn)述的動(dòng)作或狀態(tài)說話時(shí)仍在繼續(xù),并對此點(diǎn)加以強(qiáng)調(diào)時(shí)。如:Thereportersaid,“Thewarbetweenthetwocountriesisstillon.”----Thereportersaidthewarbetweenthetwocountriesisstillon.(6).
when,while,since等引導(dǎo)時(shí)間狀語從句時(shí)。如:Mygrandfathersaid,“ItismanyyearssinceIworkedhere.”---Mygrandfathersaiditwasmanyyearssinceheworkedthere.(7).直接引語中的情態(tài)動(dòng)詞沒有過去式時(shí)。如:Mymothersaid,“Youmustcleantheroomtoday.”---MymothersaidImustcleantheroomthatday.指示代詞,時(shí)間狀語,地點(diǎn)狀語在間接引語中的變化:直接引語-----間接引語this-------------thatthese----------thosenow-----------thentoday---------thatdaytonight-------thatnightlastnight-----twodaysbeforeyesterday-----thedaybefore/thepreviousdaytomorrow----thenext/followingdaythisevening----thateveninghere-----------therebring----------takecome---------go如:Hesaid,“Ihaven'tseenhertoday.”----
