ButLolaWalter,a13-year-oldgymnast,isanexpertatit.Toperfectherskills,Loala_______forfourhoursaday,fivedaysaweek. MachileGreenbergfeelsthesame.Apairofglovesmaybeasmallthing,butitmakeabigdifferenceinwinter.cityB.familyC.neighbourhoodD.company這是一道語境題,僅看第一個句子,四個選項都可以。 表示邏輯關(guān)系的語篇標志詞有:thus,therefore,so表示改變話題的標志語有:bytheway表示遞進關(guān)系的標志語有:besides,what’smore,furthermore(而且)表示轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)系的有:but,however,while,ontheotherhand,although等。表示事件關(guān)系的有:meanwhile,before,when,until,later等。 Forthosepeople,heis“Gloves”Greenberg.Howdidhegetthatname?Helookslikeanyotherbusinessman,wearingasuitcarryingabriefcase.Buthe’s_______.Hisbriefcasealwayshassomegloves.calmB.differentC.crazyD.similar由Helookslikeanyotherbusinessman,wearingasuitcarryingabriefcase(他看起來和任何其他商人一樣,穿著西裝,拿著公文包)Buthe’s_______,可知前后是對比關(guān)系,所以But后應(yīng)該是“不同”,所以選B.(四)利用原詞復(fù)現(xiàn),尋找近義詞完型填空試題中,有些詞語本身或它的同義詞重復(fù)出現(xiàn)在語篇中,因此可以通過上下文聯(lián)系找到,確定答案。如:1.Hehadtherarebalanceoffunandcompassion.Hewould__1_theloudestoverfunandbethesaddestanyone’s___2__.A.speakB.usingC.questionD.laughA.misfortuneB.disbeliefC.dishonestyD.mistake根據(jù)第一個空后的fun,可知應(yīng)用D;第二個空前面的saddest,可知應(yīng)用A不幸的。 IsaidthatIdidn'tknowhowtogetbackintotown.Insilencehestarteddriving.Iranbacktomycaranddrovebehindhim.FinallyIrecognizedafamiliarstreet.AsIturnedtoheadhome,thecardisappeared.ThenI___mydrivewaywhenthewarninglightformygastankturnedon.A.pulledinto B.droveaway C.ranacrossD.fountout解析:影響這個題目正確作答的關(guān)鍵是對空后面的driveway的含義的理解driveay指的是thehardareaorroadbetweeny:ourhouseandthestreet,(美)(從建筑物、車庫等通至道路的)私用車道車道((英)drive)。 即钆洹@?Inasignificanttighteningoflegalcontrolsoverthepress,LordIrvine,theLordChancellor,willintroducea___billthatwillproposemakingpaymenttowitnessesillegal.(2001)A.sketch B.rough C.preliminary D.draft解析:draft常用于法律術(shù)語中,draftbill意為草案,法案的意思,是習慣搭配。 Allthe____1____thatwemadewasworthwhile.Throughthisunforgottenexperience,I____2____much.Inthesemi-finals(半決賽),weweresupposedtosingfoursongs.Whenweplayedthethirdsong,Isuddenlyheardanunexpected____3____—agirlinthealto(女低音)gotquick.Theotherstudentsinthealtowere____4____bythegirlandweregettingquickerandquicker.Ourchoir’sleader,MrsLinoticeditand____5____usedherhandtokeeptime,butshe____6____.Afterthesong,thesmileonMrsLi’sfacefrozeandsomeofourmembersturnedandtriedtofindthepersonwhofirstgot____7____.Mymindwasblank,butquicklyIrealizedtheonlythingwecoulddowasto____8____theperformance.Thenwithasmile,MrsLibecamea___9___again,whoseemedtohavetotallyforgotwhatwehaddone.Wesangthe___10__songasusual.Afterthecompetition,Iwasdisappointed.Justbecauseofoneperson’sfault,thewholechoirmustaffordthefactthatwemightlosethegame.Icried,butthenIfoundnothingwouldchangenomatterhowhardwe_____11_____thegirlwhoplayedpoorly.______12______,Icametoher,encouragedher,andpracticedthewholemelodywithher.Inthefinals,wegotthemedalbecauseofour______13______performance.Neverblameapersonwhenshemakesamistake,buthelphertosolvetheproblemwhenyouarestruggling______14______thesamegoal.Nomatterwhatyouwillexperiencewithothersinthefuture,successesorfailures,_____15_____ortears,thesewillsurelybecomeyourprecioustreasureandmemory.1.A.promises
