Thetablet'fuzhonglanghuan'waspresentedtotheQiaoFamilyundertheverbalinstructionoftheEmpressDowagerCixi（1836-1908）whomadeherescapeaftertheEightPowersAlliedArmyseizedBeijing.WhenshearrivedinShanxiProvince,theQiaoFamilydonated400,000taelsofsilver(705,479ounces)topayforherjourney.
