、it v. 1. When a plane from London arrived at Sydney airport, workers began to unload a number of wooden boxes which contained clothing. Cloth, clothe

Your clothes are very beautiful. 比如“童裝”childrens clothing;“吃、穿、住”food, clothing and shelter。 2. No one could account for th

、e fact that one of the boxes was extremely heavy. 短語動詞 account for的含義為“說明理由”、“作出說明(或解釋)”: The bad weather in England accounts for Harrisons decision to leave the country. How do you account fo

、r the battered car? 比如:an exciting account of the match 對這次比賽激動人心的報導(dǎo)。常用的短語有:on account of表示“因為”;take sth. into account表示“把考慮進(jìn)去”等等。 3. It suddenly occurred to one of the workers to open up the bo

、x. (2)it在句中為先行主語,代替不定式to open up the box。 (3)open up的含義之一是“打開”: open up boxesgifts 打開箱子禮物 When he received the gifts, he opened them up at once. 4. He was astonished at what he found. A man was lying in the box o

、n top of a pile of woollen goods. 在這句話中 what引導(dǎo)的名詞性從句作介詞 at的賓語,其中what相當(dāng)于the thing which。 表示某事使讓某人吃驚通常用sb. is/are/was/were astonished at sth.: Sam appears astonished at the news/the sound.

on top of, 在上層 She put the bread on top of a pile of other goods. 而我們平時所要表達(dá)的“在頂部、在頭部”,我們使用at the top of短語。比如:Write your name at the top of the page. 此外,短語on top of the world意思是extremely happy,課文講解,5. He was so surprised at

、 being discovered that he did not even try to run away. 6. After he was arrested, the man admitted hiding in the box before the plane left London. Admit doing sth.

He admitted stealing the money.
