讓生活更有意義的4個單詞Over the years as Ive sought out ideas, principles andstrategies to lifes challenges, Ive come across four simple words that can make living worthwhile.First, life is worthwhile if you Learn. What you dont know will hurt you. Life is worthwhile if youLearn from your own experiences -negative or positive. We learn to do it right by first sometimes doing it Wrong. We call that a positive negative. We also learn from other peoples experiences, both positiveand negative.Second, life is worthwhile if you Try. You cant just learn; now you have to try something to see ifyou can do it. Try to make a difference, try to make some progress, try to learn a new skill, try to learnnew sport. It doesnt mean you can do everything, but there are a lot of things you can do, if you just try. I Try your best. Give it every effort. Why not go all out?Third, life is worthwhile if you Stay. You have to stay from spring until harvest. If you have signed I up for the day or for the game or for the project see it through. Sometimes calamity comes and then it j is worth wrapping it up. And thats the end, but just dont end in the middle. Maybe on the next project !you pass, but on this one, if you signed up. see it through. And lastly, life is worthwhile if you Care. If you care at ail you will get some results, if you care enough you can get incredible results. Care enough to make a difference. Care enough to turn somebody! around. Care enough to start a new enterprise. Care enough lo change it all. Care enough to be the - highest producer. Care enough to set some records. Care enough to win.Four powerful little words: learn, try, stay and care. Thats because this tiny bookstore that is located in Ginza, Tokyo sells only a single book at a time.Opened in May 2015, Morioka Shoten is the brainchild of Yoshiyuki Morioka. The experienced bookseller began his career as a bookstore clerk in Tokyos Kanda district before branching out to open his own store. It was here while organizing book readings that he realized that customers usually came into the store with one title in mind. Morioka began to wonder if a store could exist by selling many copies of just one single book. In November 2014, he partnered with his two friends, to establish aunique bookstore with the idea of “Single Room, A Single Book.”Like its offering, the bookstore is simple. The selections that are picked by Morioka change weeklyand vary widely to attract customers with different interests. Recent choices include The True Deceiver,an award-winning Swedish novel by Tove Jansson, Hans Christian Andersen抯 Fairy Tales, and acollection of artist Karl Blossfeldts photography of plants. Morioka has also chosen books written byfamous Japanese authors Mimnei Ogawa and Akito Akagi. To highlight his only offering, Morioka often uses clever methods. For example, when selling abook about flowers, he decorated his shop with the ones that had been mentioned in the book. He alsoencourages authors to hold talks and discussions so they can connect with customers. Morioka says hisgoal is for the customers to experience being inside a book, not just a bookstore!Risky as the idea might seem, things appear to be going well. Morioka says he has sold over 2,100books since he opened it. Things can get better considering that (考慮到)his bookstore is becomingincreasingly popular not just among the locals but also visitors from other countries.1.What inspired Morioka to open such a bookstore?A Swedish novel. B. His present partner.C. A bookstore clerk.D. His working experience.2.Why is Morioka Shoten unique?A. It is popular with foreigners.B. It sells books of different topics.C. It is decorated with colorful flowers.D. It sells various copies of a book in a week.3. Why does Morioka encourage authors to hold talks?A. To introduce his bookstore.B. To advocate (侶導(dǎo))his philosophy.C. To make books better understood.D. To help readers connect with each other.4.Whats the authors opinion about the bookstores future?A.Risky. B. Optimistic. C. Unpredictable. D. HopelessB“Indeed,”George Washington wrote in his diary in 1785, “some kind of fly, or bug, had begun to eat the leaves before I left home.”But the father of America was not the father of bug. When Washington wrote that, Englishmen had been referring to insects as bugs for more than a century, and Americans had already created lightning-bug( 螢火蟲).But the English were soon to stop using the bugs in theirlanguage, leaving it to the Americans to call a bug a bug in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The American bug could also be a person, referring to someone who was crazy about a particularactivity. Although fan became the usual term, sports fans used to be called racing bugs, baseball bugs and the like.Or the bug.could.be a small machine or object, for example, a bug-shaped car. The bug could also be a burglar alarm, from which comes the expression to bug, that isto install (安裝)an alarm. Now it means a small piece of equipment that people use for listening secretly to others, conversation. Since the 1840s, to bug has long meant “to cheat”,and since the 1940s it has been annoying. We also know the bug as a Haw in a computer program or other design. That meaning dates back to the time of Thomas Edison. In 1878 he explained bugs as “l(fā)ittle problems and difficulties that required months of study and labor to overcome in developing a successful product. In 1889 it was recorded that Edison “had been up the two previous nights discovering bug in his invented record player.”5.We learn from Paragraph I that.A.Americans had difficulty in learning to use the word bugB.George Washington was the first person to call
