Ability ObjectsHelp the students to learn the modals for giving advice: (1)You should see a dentist. (2)You shouldnt eat anything. Talk about illnesses.3. Moral ObjectLearn to express sympathy for a patient and give some advice to the patients. II. Teaching Importance and DifficultyWhats the matter? -I have a toothache.Maybe you should see a dentist. -Thats a good idea.III. Teaching ProceduresStep 1 Warming-up Greeting students Listen to “Body song”, see who can write down the most words about “parts of the body”. and answer the questions: 1).How many words can you hear? 2).What are they?Step 2 RevisionGive some pictures to them .Ask them to say whats the matter with sbReview some sentence partterns : I have a sore throat . I have a cold. I have a stomachache. I have a sore back.Write some phrases on the blackboard : I have a stomachache.= I have a sore stomach=There is something wrong with stomachStep 3 Presentation Use some pictures to present three ways of having a problem:A: Whats the matter? B: I have a fever I have a toothache I have a headache Step 4 Practice Lets play a guessing game. (what s the matter?) Ask one student to act some activitie, other students guess whats the matter. The student who wins can get some gifts.Step 5 Presentation When we know sb is ill ,we should give some advice. By showing some pictures, we lead some advices . lie down and rest drink lots of water drink hot tea with honey See a dentist eat too much candy. Write some phrases on the blackboardRest= have a rest =take a rest should shouldnt Step 6 Practice Task1 play a game Who is the best doctor? I give them some sentences on the blackboard .Students use these sentences to make a dialogue . Some act as a doctor, the others act as patients. The doctor who can diagnose correctly can get a flower .The doctor who has most flowers is the best doctor.Task2 Listening practice ,complete 2a and 2b.First listen, then check the answers.Step7
