牛津高中英語教學(xué)設(shè)計(jì)教材:牛津高中英語 (模塊九) 高三上學(xué)期文檔內(nèi)容:教學(xué)設(shè)計(jì)教案單元:Unit 2 Witnessing time板塊:Word power作 者:商三英Thoughts on the design:本節(jié)課是詞匯學(xué)習(xí)課,要求學(xué)生了解英語中的希臘語詞匯。英語在其發(fā)展的過程中吸收了大量的外來詞匯。希臘文明對(duì)西方文明產(chǎn)生了巨大的影響,同樣地,希臘語也為英語貢獻(xiàn)了大量的詞匯。學(xué)生通過這些詞匯的了解,可以提高詞匯學(xué)習(xí)的策略,從而提高學(xué)習(xí)的效率。諺語也是詞匯學(xué)習(xí)的一部分,讓學(xué)生欣賞一些希臘的諺語,幫助學(xué)生更多地了解希臘文化。Teaching aims:After learning this part, the students will be able to recognize some borrowed words from Greek. And thus they will be able to learn the vocabulary more effectively. Meanwhile, some Greek proverbs are appreciated in this period.Teaching procedures:Step 1 Revision (ppt6-14)Tell the students: The Acropolis is just one of the many monuments listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. Can you identify where the following World Heritage sites are?Explanation通過討論世界文化遺址激活主題,引導(dǎo)學(xué)生復(fù)習(xí)了前幾個(gè)課時(shí)剛剛學(xué)過的知識(shí),重點(diǎn)復(fù)習(xí)了部分國家和世界文化遺址名稱。 Step 2 Brainstorming (ppt15)Tell the students: In the previous period, weve learned something about Greek architecture.Weve learnt that no one had a greater impact on Western civilization than the ancient Greeks.Similarly, the Greek language has also influenced the English language. There are a lot of English words derived from Greek. Can you list some examples?Activity: Pair workThe students can refer to the article in the textbook or share what they have already known.Explanation將課文復(fù)習(xí)自然地過渡到詞匯學(xué)習(xí),同時(shí)激發(fā)學(xué)生已有知識(shí)。通過討論,學(xué)生互相學(xué)習(xí),從而提高學(xué)生合作學(xué)習(xí)的能力。Step 3 Vocabulary learning (ppt16-21)1. Now read the passage in Part A and find out the answers to the following questions: (ppt16)What words does Greek contribute to the English language? (Words related to science, sport and many everyday words.)Why are there so many scientific words that come from Greek? (Because the Greeks made a huge contribution to the field of science.)2. Work in pairs and put the words mentioned in Part A in the correct fields in the chart on the slide. (ppt18)3. Check the answers. (ppt19-20)4. Read them aloud.5. Complete Part C on page 23 individually turning to Part A and B for reference. Apart from the Greek language, throughout history, the English language borrowed many words from other languages. What words are borrowed words and which language did they come from? Please find out as many words as possible and write your answers on the paper.Anglo-Saxon: pick.Norse: liftFrench: beef, mutton, pork, baconGerman endings: men, oxen, feet, teeth, children2. Greek proverbs. Get the students to appreciate the proverbs in Part D and put them into Chinese.Explanation除了希臘語之外,英語中還有許多來自其它語言的詞匯。通過這一環(huán)節(jié),學(xué)生更多的了解了英語中的外來詞匯。猜詞部分對(duì)所學(xué)單詞進(jìn)行鞏固,因word power部分是作為詞匯拓展而設(shè)計(jì)的,因此要求學(xué)生能夠識(shí)別本課單詞皆可,不要求更高層次的運(yùn)用,以免增加學(xué)生負(fù)擔(dān)。 另外,諺語也是詞匯學(xué)習(xí)的一部分。讓學(xué)生欣賞希臘諺語,并幫助他們翻譯成漢語。Step 5 Discussion (PPT25)1. Organize students into groups and discuss the following questions:1) Does the Chinese language borrow words from other languages? Examples? 2) Why does a language need to borrow words from other languages?2. Ask some students to report their answers.Explanation通過前面的學(xué)習(xí),學(xué)生對(duì)英語吸收外來詞語、特別是希臘語言的情況有了初步了解。通過本環(huán)節(jié)關(guān)于母語吸收外來語的討論,目的是為了加深學(xué)生的體驗(yàn),更進(jìn)一步了解語言乃至文化的互相影響,第二題的討論引導(dǎo)學(xué)生對(duì)語言變化這一現(xiàn)象進(jìn)行了更深層次的討論。同時(shí),該步驟也提高了學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)興趣。Step 6 Summary and homeworkEncourage the students to summarize (if the students have any difficulty, the teacher may give some help): With the development of science and technology, globalization is becoming more and more popular, thus bringing about a lot of changes to languages. While learning a language, learning something about its origins is also necessary and helpful.Explanation引導(dǎo)學(xué)生對(duì)本節(jié)課所學(xué)內(nèi)容進(jìn)行小結(jié),使學(xué)生意識(shí)到學(xué)習(xí)一門語言要了解其相應(yīng)的文化。尤其在全球一體化的今天,各國都更需要有一種包容萬象的開放文化,提醒人們要了解、吸收并尊重他國文化;Step 7 Homework 1.
