Unit 7 Whats the highest mountain in the world?Section APeriod One (section A ,1a ,1b ,1c ,2a ,2b)Teaching aims:1.復(fù)習(xí)掌握形容詞比較級和最高級用法2.復(fù)習(xí)掌握數(shù)詞用法3.Language Points :1.詞匯: Asia, size ,desert, deep, bamboo, southeast, civilization, manmade, Per2.句型 :Did you know that Qomolangma is the highest mountain in the word?Its 1,025 meters deep.The worlds deepest salt lake is the Caspian.Difficulties: 幾個外國地名的讀法及寫法Step 1 PresentationShow a picture of Amazon and ask “Do you know the river? Whats its name? How long is it? Can you tell me something about? ”Help the students to answer: Its the longest river in the world .its name is Amazon. Its about 6,500 Kilometers long .Teach the new word “Amazon” In the same way, introduce these places “Qomolangma, the samara , the Caspian sea ”利用圖片教授知識,便于讓學(xué)生理解接受, 降低了知識的難度, 激發(fā)培養(yǎng)了學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)英語的興趣.Step 2 Work on 1cAsk the students to make a conversation using in the information in the chart in activity 1a.在學(xué)生初步掌握了新授知識的基礎(chǔ)上, 兩人一組進(jìn)行對話練習(xí), 鞏固所學(xué)知識.Step 3 Make a surveyAsk the students to fill in the table with the help of the geography book .讓學(xué)生查閱世界地理,填寫世界之最,將英語課堂融合于地理知識. Step 4 Work on 1b Show a Chinese map and an American map and say: This is a map of china .China is one of the oldest Civilizations in the world. It has long history than America. Teach the new word “Civilization”In the same way to teach these new word “bamboo, southeast, and man made”.利用圖畫授單詞,加強(qiáng)學(xué)生感性認(rèn)識, 為下一步聽力做好準(zhǔn)備.Play the tape and ask the students to listen and check the facts they hear, and then read after the tape.先做完題, 再讓學(xué)生跟讀,以便糾正學(xué)生語音語調(diào).Step 5 work on 2a, 2bShow a car picture and a cheetah and say: this is a car, it can run 100200 kilometers per hour. Whats this? Its a cheetah .It can run as fast as the car. Teach the new words “Per”. In the same way to introduce some information in 2a. Then ask the students listen to the tape and number the facts.在做聽力前介紹聽力信息,降低聽力難度, 激發(fā)學(xué)生興趣 .Homework:寫一篇關(guān)于世界之最的小短文Period Two (2b, 2c, 2d, 3a, 3b)Teaching aims:1.能夠復(fù)述本節(jié)課所學(xué)的課文.2.復(fù)習(xí)掌握主語+be+數(shù)詞+meters/kilometers+high/deep/long/wide 句型Language points:1.詞匯 : Length ,speed , attract, peak, thick cover , top ,freezing ,indeed2.句型 : The height of Qomolangma is 8,844 meters high. =The Qomolangma is 8,844 meters high.The cheetah can run kilometers per hour.More recently, it has become safer and faster to climb QomolangmaStep1: Presentation Ask the students to answer these questions:1.Which is the longest river in china?2.How high is the Qomolangma?3.Which river is longer ,the Nile or the Yellow River?復(fù)習(xí)上節(jié)課所學(xué)的內(nèi)容,為教授下面2c做準(zhǔn)備Step 2: work on 2c Get the ss to read the books and match the columns. Explain some sentences like this: The length of the Yangze River is 6,300 kilometers long.=The Yangze River is 6,300 kilometers long.展示同一個句子兩種表達(dá)法, 開闊學(xué)生的思路。Step 3: work on 2dGet the ss to make conversations, using the information in activities 2a and 2c.鞏固深化學(xué)生所學(xué)知識 ,訓(xùn)練學(xué)生口語表達(dá)能力.Step 4: work on 3a, 3bRead the article quickly and answer T (True) or F (False) on the slide.Read the article again and answer five questions according to the text. Then Read the article more slowly and complete the chart. Get Ss discuss some difficult phrases and sentences in groups, Then the teacher show them on the slide.快速閱讀, 初步整體感知;進(jìn)一步閱讀深化,全面理解課文;閱讀后讓學(xué)生分組討論難點(diǎn),在老師的幫助下,跳一跳 摘桃子.Step 5: Retell the articleThe Ss look at the chart on the slide and retell the article in their own words .用自己的話復(fù)述課文,將課本知識轉(zhuǎn)化為自己的知識.Section BPeriod Three (section B1, 2a, 2b, 2c) Teaching aims:1.比較級的幾種不同表達(dá)方式。2.用英語比較表達(dá)一些動物的特性。Language points: 1.詞匯 : butterfly, whale, eventually, centimeter2.句型 : A is more than ten times bigger than BA is three times as strong as BA is ten centimeters longer than BDifficulties:形容詞比較級的幾種特殊用法。Step 1. PresentationUsing the pictures on the slide to teach the Ss something about animals.教授人體動物的一些特征,為下面講授比較級做鋪墊.Step 2: Presentation Using a man picture, a panda picture and a cheetah picture to teach these sentences:1.A man is ten kilos stronger than a cheetah.2.A panda is 2 times as strong as a cheetah.通過圖片的場景教授新句型,加深對這三個句子的理解運(yùn)用.Step 3: work on 2a, 2bPlay the tape for the first time, let SS only listen. Then play the tape again, this time Ss complete the sentences.先聽不做,讓學(xué)生培養(yǎng)起良好的聽的習(xí)慣,有助于培養(yǎng)他們的注意力.Step 4: work on 2c.Compare facts about animals according to the table on the slide. Then ask the Ss to practice the dialogue in pairs.看著教師設(shè)計(jì)的表格,兩人一組進(jìn)行問答,降低了知識點(diǎn)難度.Period Four (3a, 3b, 4 , self check)Teaching aims:1.鞏固本單元所學(xué)的單詞及句型. 2.掌握本節(jié)課所學(xué)課文中的重點(diǎn)短語及句法.Language Point:1.詞匯: prevent, typhoon, cause ,from bad to worse, disaster.2.句型:Soldiers tried to prevent the water from rising higher by using bags filled with sand.Difficulties:用自己的話復(fù)述課文. Step 1 presentation: Show some pictures about the flood, the typhoon and the tsunami then ask the Ss to talk about them with the teachers help.由圖片引發(fā)討論,為學(xué)習(xí)課文先熱身.Step 2: practiceHave the Ss read the article quickly do T Or F, then read the article again answer some questions.對課文先整體感知再精讀,便于學(xué)生掌握課文內(nèi)容.Step 3: Practice Using the pictures about the article to explain the article step by step.
