The difficult point is to have a simple idea about the different weather in different cities in the world.Teaching aidsPPT, Kingson software, worksheet, the cards about the weather and citiesTeaching procedureStep 1: Warm up1. Sing a song “Weather song”2. To make a weather report of China with “hot, warm, cool, cold”.Step 2: Presentation1. Introduce Johns father: This is Johns father. He is going on a world trip. Hes going to Singapore, Moscow, Sydney and London. Look, he is packing his clothes. And Johns mother is watching the weather report of the world on TV. Lets see what the weather is like in these places and what clothes should Johns father pack.2. To learn the words sunny, cloudy, rainy, snowy in the same way.Present: Whats the weather like in Sydney? Its hot. Its hot and sunny. Learn the word in this way: Look at the sun. Its sunny. And then tell the students the symbol of sunny in weather report. Learn the other words in this way.3. Practice: (1) Look and say: Look at the symbols and say out the weather. (2) Look and say: Look at the pictures and say out the weather. (3) Lets find out: Look at the words of the weather, find out the right symbols. (4) Lets guess: Guess what the weather is with the pictures that the most part is covered. (5) Listen and tick: Listen to Main Scene, tick the right answer.LondonSingaporeMoscowSydney (6) Check if the weather report is true as the reality (The report and the Main Scene).Step 3 Consolidation (1) Play a game To make cards for the students: Some of the cars have the names of places on one side, and it has the weather on the other side (Card A). Some cards only have the weather. (Card B) S1 chooses one of the Card As, S2 chooses one of the Card Bs. S1 shows the name of the place to S2. S2 looks at the Card B and says: Its sunny and warm in Kunming. S1 looks at the back side of the card, says: “Yes, youre right.” or “No, its cool and windy in Kunming.” (2) Group work: Students ask, answer and write down the answers in turns with the help of the word bank and pictures. Then make a report. Step 4Homework 1. Copy the new words. 2. To report the weather of big cities in the world to your parents.Blackbo
