B only to do sth.“結(jié)果卻,不料”,作結(jié)果狀語,表示該結(jié)果在主語的預(yù)料之外;現(xiàn)在分詞作結(jié)果狀語,表示由主句所產(chǎn)生的邏輯上的結(jié)果。 2. A 這四個選項都是英語成語,根據(jù)本段第一句an 8.2 earthquake almost flattened America判斷,選擇A項。3.

Tears fill his eyes;Tears come into his eyes;He bursts into tears。6. dig及物動詞,“掘(土),挖”;dig through“(為找)在里挖掘”;dig out “發(fā)掘

、出” dig into“鉆研”。8. 9. C Come on表示勸說,不耐煩,意為“得啦!,來!”,可用Come, Come,代替。10. 11. A “介詞+反身代詞”有固定含義,for oneself獨自地,親自;by oneself單獨地;of oneself自行地,自動地;to oneself 對(著)自己。12.

、ving ,alive 。 I cant believe my first teacher is still living。

笔菞l件狀語從句,應(yīng)該用if 引導(dǎo),然而選項中沒有if,when與if同義,引導(dǎo)條件狀語從句。even if 引導(dǎo)讓步狀語從句。17. C 此題包含一個固定句型:There are left. 18. C 14 out of 33 意為:33人中有14人活下來。out of “從里面”。 而make room; make space

( B )My ears are recently full of joyous remarks from my friends such as, “oh, Beckham is so handsome, so cool, that I cant help falling in love with him!” Or “what perfect skills he has!” Yeah, I agree 1 some degree, though I sometimes do want to ask them ho

4.C 此題為“介詞+關(guān)系代詞”引導(dǎo)定語從句,about 與be uncertain搭配。

( C )Scientists find that hard-working people live longer

Scientists find that hard-working people live longer than average men and women.

come down to“歸結(jié)為”;equal to“等于”;add up to “合計”;amount to“總共到;相當于”。5. 6.D 從下文and lonely

、 when they have nothing to do進行邏輯推理,意義為“沒事做的人會感到unhappy, worried and lonely”。 10. A means“意味著”。11.

、以選A。13. 17. D beyond words“無法用語言表達”;in a word“簡言之”;without a word “二話沒說”; at a word“反應(yīng)迅速地,立即”。18.

、t不能省略,也不能用which和what。19. 從句子結(jié)構(gòu)上分析,此題含有一個“the more ,the more”句型。20. (A)Ed Viesturs grew up in Rockford, Illinois, where the tallest thing on the horizon was the water tower.
