4、dscapes had come into being because of the uprising of the lithosphere. Archaiclege nd about this mysterious and beautiful snow moun tai n goes like this: Once upon a time, Jade Drag on Snow Moun tai n and Haba Snow Mountainwere twins. They had lived onpanning in Golden Sand River until one day an e

5、vil fiend usurped the river. The brothers were very brave and had a fierce fight with the fiend, Haba died in the fight and Jade Drago n drove off the fiend after weari ng out 13 swords. For guarding the people andpreventing the return of the fiend,Jade Dragon held the 13 swords in hands day and nig

6、ht. As time passed, the brothers had turnedinto the two snowmountains, and the 13 swords had become the 13 peaks. Jade Drago n Snow Moun tai n is a holy mou nta in for the local Naxi people not only because of the lege nd, but also because long time ago, it was a place for young lovers to sacrifice

7、their young lives in honor of true love and to escape from the arran ged marriages and feudal ethics.Jade Dragon Snow Mountainis a sanctuary for rareani mals and wild pla nts. In fact, one fourth of all pla nt species in China can be found here and20 primevalforestcom mun ities shelter a big family

Thesespecies live in differe nt temperature levels and create differe ntkinds of views of Jade Drag on Snow Moun tai n. The 13 peaks, which have the altitudes of at least 4,000 meters, are covered by snow all year round;
