1、English Teacher Development Years of foreign language teaching in Chineseschools and the reform of English languageteaching in particular since the new century haveclearly shown that English teacher evelopment needsmore attention if the quality of English teaching is toimprove in China. Teacher deve

2、lopment is aprerequisite to realizing teacher professionalization,This Chapter makes a brief introduction to the content,approaches and modes of English teacher developmentin China. Teacher development originated from teacher professionalization 1966: UNESCO published the book Advice on the Teacher.

3、 1994: China implemented the Teachers Law which stated:“Teachers are the professionals who carry out education and teaching. 1995: The State Council promulgated The Teachers certificateRegulations.(教師資格條例) 2000: The Ministry of Education promulgated The ImplementationMeasures for the Teachers certif
