He has helped thousands of people get jobs. His book Job Hunting Secrets and Tactics (1977) tells readers what the
2、y need to know in order to get the jobs they want. 2. Berkeley: Berkeley is a US city in Alameda County, western California. The city is a leading educational center, seat of the University of California at Berkeley, Armstrong University, and numerous research institutes. 3. New Haven: a US city in

Once a prosperous manufacturing center, now it has an economy based on four sectors: bio-technology, health care, higher education, and arts and entertainment. Yale University commands a central position in the citys economic and cultural life. 4. Chapel Hill:
4、 a residential town in central North Carolina, the United States. The University of North Carolina is here. 5. Boulder: Boulder City, a US city in Nevada. 6. Sears: Sears, Roebuck and Co. is a leading retail company in the US. Sears sells a wide range of consumer goods, including apparel, appliances
5、, tools, automotive supplies, and household items. It is based in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, near Chicago. 7. General Motors: General Motors Corporation (GM) is the worlds largest manufacturer of automobiles and one of the worlds largest manufacturers of trucks. GM sells about 30 percent of all cars
6、 and trucks in the US and about 15 percent of all cars and trucks in the world. Based in Detroit, Michigan, GM is the largest corporation in the US based on overall sales. 8. Laurel and Hardy: They refer to two famous comedians, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. Stan Laurel was born in Ulverston, Englan
7、d in 1890 and died in 1965. Oliver Hardy was born in Georgia of the US in 1892 and died in 1957. They were a pair of seemingly mismatched clowns in their films. Their first encounter was in the movie Lucky Dog, and after featuring in the movie Duck Soup they transformed into the best comedy duo of c
