The robot caught a virus and no longer worked properly. no longer=not any longer多指時間, 用來修飾具體狀態(tài)。e.g. He is no longer a student. =He is not a student any longer. 他不再是一個學生了。no more = not any more指數(shù)量和程度, 用來修飾動作。e.g. She no more cried. 她不再哭了。5. When Mr Jiang got home, he would find his flat in
35、 a complete mess: food was laid on the bed; milk was stored in the rubbish bin; coins, bills, and his private papers were spread all over the floor. 當江先生回到家,他會發(fā)現(xiàn)家里亂作一團:食物放在床上,牛奶儲存在垃圾桶里,硬幣,賬單和他的私人文件撒得滿地都是。 句中的mess是可數(shù)名詞,常用單數(shù)形式,意思是“雜亂,不整齊”。常見的搭配有be in a mess (雜亂不堪),make a mess (搞得一塌糊涂)。e.g. The childre
