Unwilling to work like this, Peter, the leading singer of the band, tried to talk with the manager to have some of the unaccomplished performances cancelled. However, there was a divide/division between

3、them. It was a pity that Peter decided to break away from FORCE . To their credit, neither did the remaining members break up the band nor they stopped trying to persuade Peter to return when it was convenient for them to do so. At last Peter was moved. His return delighted all people knowing them,

The journey will be accomplished in five weeks. 區(qū)別:accomplish 指成功地完成預(yù)期的計(jì)劃或達(dá)到預(yù)期目的、成果,其后常跟task, aim, journey, voyage等. complete比accomplish具體,多指經(jīng)過進(jìn)一步努力使目標(biāo)完成,含"補(bǔ)足缺少部分"之意,其后常跟工程、書籍、項(xiàng)目等. e.g.: The building will be c

14、ompleted in three days. 11. divide vt. 分,劃分o. e.g.: The teacher divided our class into four groups. 區(qū)別:separate意為“分開”,側(cè)重表示把原來在一起或靠近的事物分隔開來,分開后的部分具有相對(duì)的獨(dú)立性.它常與介詞from連用.divide 意為“分割;分開”,強(qiáng)調(diào)把一個(gè)整體按等量或一定比例分開.常與into連用. e.g.: separate the good apples from the bad ones divide an apple into two halve
