45、onvey pedestrians throughout the site to desti-nations such as look-out points, community centers, restaurantsand the village centerAlthough each open space is unique, all derive from a commonvocabulary of paving and plant materials, site furniture and designdetails to ensure continuity of design fr

46、om one space to the next.Additionally, the open space network is designed to accommodateconservation efforts such as a closed-loop water runoff and collec-tion and treatment systems. 49、r, energy and materials must beconsidered in order to minimize impact on the global system withinwhich they and their occupants function.This means tailoring every aspect of a site to the climatic, biologicaland even cultural conditions at that site. It means relying exclusivelyon indigenous plants,

50、 shrubs and trees in landscaping. It meansemploying non-toxic, biodegradable, recyclable or recycled materialswherever possible in construction. And it means working with ratherthan against nature in designing systems to draw as little water andenergy as possible from non-renewable sources, releasin
