4、rocedures . Lead-in 1. T shows pictures and ask Ss to speak out as many adj. about people as possible. Check the adj. Ss read and we can divide them into some pairs, like: Section A 1a tall - short; thin - heavy, long hair - short hair, loudly - quietlyGive Ss an example: She is heavier than me. I a
5、m more outgoing than her. 2) She has longer hair than I. . Presentation Ask Ss to see the topic map and see the differences. Then compare some of their things with each other. e.g. Tom has shorter hair than Sam. Sam plays the drums better than Tom. Summarize the Comparatives and complete the blanks.
6、 Listening Listen and number the pairs of the twins in the picture(1-3). Check the answers. . Listen again and complete the dialogue. e.g. Conversation 1 Boy 1: Is that Sam playing the guitar? Girl: No, thats Tom. Sam has_ hair than Tom. Boy 2: Both Tom and Sam can play the drums, but Sam plays them
7、 _ than Tom. . 1)Ask Ss to look at the the listening text and underline the sentences with comparatives.e.g. Sam has longer hair than Tom.Tina sings more loudly than Tara.Peter is taller than Paul. . 2) Have Ss summarize the comparative sentence patterns. Pair-work: Point out the sample conversation
8、 in activity 1c. Now work with your partner. Make your own conversation about the twins. 2. Let Ss practice the conversation. 3. Then let some pairs act out their conversations in front of the class. . Writing: Write and Guess. SummarySs can master the comparative from of adjectives and adverbs. Ss
