ThemainreasontheNDNADislargerthandatabasesinothercountriesisthatBritainwasfirsttostartusingDNAasaninvestigativetool.SonotonlyhasithadtimetocollectmoreDNAsamples,butithasalsohadlongertoappreciatethesheerpowerofalargedatabase."EveryothercountrythatdoesdatabasingwillgettowhereBritainisnow,"saysChrisAsplen,aconsultanttolawenforcementagenciesandgovernmentsonDNAtechnology.
