e,westillhavepriorities,andwewantyoungpeopletosharethem.Manyofusthatthenextgenerationwillnotpreservewhatwevalueunlesstheynowenjoyittosomeextent.Childrengrowupbelievingthatfootballyersandrocksingersmustbehappy,andtheyenvyhigh-profileentertainersforwhattheythinkmustbefabulous,fulfillinglives.Adults,themselvesoftendeludedbyinfatuationwithfatuousmodels,conspireinthedeception.Neitherparentsnorschoolsareveryeffectiveatteachingtheyoungtofindpleasureintherightthings.Theymakeserioustasksseemdullandhardandfrivolousonesexcitingandeasy.Schoolsgenerallyfailtoteachhowbeautifulscienceandmathematicscanbe;theyteachtheroutineoflitureandhistoryratherthantheadventure.Itisinthissensethatcreativeindividualsliveexemrylives.Theyshowhowjoyfulandinterestingcomplexsymbolicactivitycanbe.Withthehelpofparentsandafewvisionaryteachers,theyhave
