Productionandconsumptionareintertwined.Inorderforpeopletoconsumethings,someonehastoproducethosethings.Andinordertoproducethings,youneedtoconsumethings(youneedtoconsumenaturalresourcesandpeople'slabor,forexample).
Markets
Inamarketeconomy,oramodifiedmarketeconomysuchastheU.S.economy,productionandconsumptionareconnectedinvarious"markets."Amarketissimplyaplacewhereconsumerscangotobuythingsfromproducersandproducerscangotosellthingstoconsumers.

Theultimategoalofproducersistomakemoney—tobringinmoremoneythantheyspentproducingtheproduct.Consumersmaywanttosatisfytheirwantsandneedsbybuyingproducts,ortheymaybuyproductsinordertomakemoney(byresellingtheproductsorbyusingtheproductstoproduceotherproducts).Inanycase,consumersgenerallywanttopayaslittleforgoodsandservicesastheycan.
