ItwasfouryearsagothateveryoneofuscamefromeverypartofChinaandformedanewcollective.Asweareyoung,itsveryeasyforustocommunicate.Itwasinthepastfouryearsthatwewereambitious.Itwasinthepastfouryearsthatweworried.Itwasinthepastfouryearsthatwewerecontent.Itwasinthepastfouryearsthatwewerevexed.Itwasinthepastfouryearsthatwewerefriendlyandlonely...anditwasinthepastfoursthatwestudied,livedandrespectedeachotherwithgenuineandwithourambitions.Nothingintheworldismoresignificantthanwemissallofthese.

Thecynicssaythecollegestudentsarethepamperedlostgeneration,whichwouldcringeattheslightestdiscomfort.Butthecynicsarewrong.ThecollegestudentsIseeareeagerlylearningabouthowtoliveindependently.Wehelpeachothercleanthedormitory,goshoppingandbargaintogether,andtakeparttimejobstosupplementourpocketmoney.

Thecynicssaywecarefornothingotherthangrades;andweneglecttheneedforcharactercultivation.Butagain,
