SlowAE(AutoExposure)

TheslowAEResponsefunctionallowsyoutoreducetheexposureresponsespeed.Usuallythecameraissetupsothattheoptimumexposurecanbeobtainedautomaticallywithinabout1second.However,usingtheslowAEresponsefunctionallowsyoutolengthentheautoexposureresponsespeedfromtheinitialsetupspeed(01h)toapprox.10minutes(30h)(atnormalshutterspeed).

Forexample,withthenormalsetting(about1second),iftheheadlightsofacararecaughtbythecamera,thecameraautomaticallyadjuststheexposuresothatitcanshootahigh-intensitysubject(inthiscase,theheadlights).Asaresult,imagesaroundtheheadlights,thatis,therestofthesubject,excepttheheadlights,becomesrelativelydark,andpoorlydistinguished.

However,usingtheslowAEfunctionmeanstheAEresponsespeedwillbeslower,andresponsetimewillbelonger.Asaresult,evenifthecameracatchesahigh-intensitysubject(e.g.,theheadlights)foramoment,youcanstilleasilydistinguishtheportionsoftheimagesurroundingtheheadlights.

ApertureControl

Aperturecontrolisafunctionwhichadjuststheedgeenhancementofobjectsinthepicture.Thereare16levelsofadjustment,startingfrom“noenhancement.”Whenshootingtext,thiscontrolmayhelpbymakingthemsharper.

BacklightCompensation

Whenthebackgroundofthesubjectistoobright,orwhenthesubjectistoodarkduetoshootingintheAEmode,backlightcompensationwillmakethesubjectappearclearer.

WideDynamicRangeMode(Wide-D)

TheWideDynamicRangemodeisafunctionfordividinganimageintoseveralblocksandcorrectingblocked-upshadowsandblown-outhighlightsinaccordancewiththeintensitydifference.Itenablesyoutoobtainimagesinwhichportionsrangingfromdarktolightcanberecognized,evenwhencapturingasubjectwithalargeintensitydifferencethatisbacklitorincludesextremelylightportions.

Imageswithwidedynamicrangeareproducedbycombininglong-exposuresignals(normalshutter)withthesignalsofthehigh-intensityportionsobtainedwithashortexposure(high-speedshutter).

ThisfunctionisalsousedintheWide-Doperation.

Defogmode

Whenthesurroundingareaofthesubjectisfoggyandlowcontrast,thedefogmodewillmakethesubjectappearclearer.

Youcanselectthisfunctionfromthefourlevels:OFF,Low,MiddleandHigh.

HLC

HLC(highlightcorrection)isafunctiontoadjustAEandAF,andtoperformthemaskingoflightareaasrequiredwhenahighintensityspotlightisdetected.Itallowsyoutoeasilyreadthenumberofvehiclesandnumberplateintheindoorparkingareaorintheoutdoorduringthenight.

Wide-D/HLC/BacklightCompensation/SpotExposureModedonotworkatthesametime.

MinimumShutter

Whenthesubjectbecomesdark,theshutterspeedbecomesslow,andthenthegainisincreased.Thisisafunctiontoputalimitontheshutterspeed.

Itpreventsthecamerashakewhenyoushootamovingsubjectinadarkplace.

NoiseReduction(NR)

TheNRfunctionremovesnoise(bothrandomandnon-random)toprovideclearerimages.

Thefunctionsofboth2DNR(removalof2-dimentionalnoise)and3DNR(removalof3-dimentionalnoise)areprovided.Whenthe2DNRlevelisincreased,thedetailsofimagemaybelostbecausethesmoothingofimagewiththeperipheralareaisperformed.Also,whenthe3DNRlevelisincreased,adverseeffectssuchasimageblurandblendinginthesuccessiveimagesoccurinthemovingportion.Inthisfunction,themodetosetthelevelofeffectbycombining2D/3D(normalsetting)andthemodetoindividuallysetthelevelofeffectrespectively(independentsetting)areavailable.

Inthenormalsetting,youcanselectthenoisereductionlevelfrom6levels:levels1to5,plusoff.Inthissetting,theuserscannotadjusttheratioof2D/3Deffectlevel.

Intheindependentsetting,youcanindividuallyselectthe2DNRand3DNRfrom6levelsrespectively:levels1to5,plusoff.

TheNReffectisappliedinlevelsbasedonthegain,andthissettingvaluedeterminesthelimitoftheeffect.Inbrightconditions,changingtheNRlevelwillnothaveaneffect.

Highsensitivitymode

Thisfunctionincreasesthemaxgaintoallowbrightoutputindarkerenvironments.

However,withastronggain(upto10×),thecapturedimagewillcontainalotofnoise.

FlickerReduction

Thisfunctionautomaticallyreducesflickersuchasthatcausedbyfluorescentlight.

Theconversionvalue(hex)ofthetemperaturesensorbuiltintotothecameracanbereadbyusingaquerycommand.Theconversionvaluehasanerrorof±3°C,andbecausethetemperaturesensorisinsidethecamera,thisvalueisnottheambienttemperature.Useitasareferencevalue.

ImageStabilizer

SwitchingOntheImageStabilizerfunctionreducesimageblurringcausedby,forexample,vibration,whichallowsyoutoobtainimageswithoutmuchblurring.Acorrectioneffectispossibleforavibrationfrequencyofaround10Hz.TheImageStabilizerfunctionemploysthedigitalzoomsystem,sotheangleofviewandresolutionarechanged,butthesensitivityismaintained.

“StableZoom”

“StableZoom”isafunctionforperformingcorrectionusingtheImageStabilizerfunctioninaccordancewiththezoomratio,andsmoothlyzoominguptoapproximately36×usingacombinationoftheoptical
