Eithercoldbendingorhotbendingmaybeusedforpipebending.Incaseof
coldbending,thebendingradiusofthecurvatureofthepipeistobeingeneralnotlessthanthreetimestheoutsidediameterofthepipe.Forspecialpipessuchastankheatingpipeandpipestobefixedinconfinedspace,theradiusofcurvatureistobeingeneralnotlessthantwotimestheoutsidediameterofthepipe.Whenpre-fabricatedbendisadopted,thebendingradiusofthecurvatureistobenotlessthantheoutsidediameterofthepipe.

Beforeconductionshaftingcentering,allhullconstructionbehindengine
roomforebulkheadandbelowmaindeckorcontinuousstrengthdeckaretobecompleted.Thesterntubeistobecentered,fixedandweldedtocompletionbasedonship’scenterlinedulysurveyedandqualified.
Duringtheprocessofshaftingcentering,anyworkthatmaycausesever
vibrationandliftingoperationofheavypiecearetobeforbidden.
Aftercentering,checktheverticaldistanceoftheshaftingcentertotheface
plateofthefoundationofmainengineandtothefaceplateofbeddingsupportofintermediatebearing,thedeviationatforeandaftandthemachiningtoleranceofthesternbossaretobechecked.
