2.IttookmeaminutebeforeIrealisedwhatitmeant. before引導(dǎo)時(shí)間狀語從句;what引導(dǎo)賓語從句。3.Thesignsheusedweretosaythathe'dberunninglateandwouldbetheresoon.

這些符號(hào)是想說他要遲到了,會(huì)盡快過來。heused為定語從句,修飾名詞signs,從句省略了關(guān)系代詞that或which;

4.Insteadofreplyingwithasimple“OK,don'trush”,Isearchedforemojisonmyphonethatwouldexpressthesamemessage:... 5.Thiswasmyattempttofollowthetrendofcommunicatingwithemojis.

attemptn.&vt.嘗試;努力;試圖makeanattempt/attemptstodo/atdoingsth. 6.Withtherapiddevelopmentofsocialmedia,emojisarebecominganintegralcomponentofthelanguageweuse

toexpressourselves. 皐ith...media”作伴隨狀語;“weuse...ourselves”為定語從句,修飾thelanguage,從句省略關(guān)系代詞that或which。7.Theword“emoji”comesfromJapanese,literallymeaning“picturecharacter”.

e.g.Studentswentaway,runningandlaughing. Theboysatinfrontofthefarmhouse,cuttingthebranch. 8.Emojisaresmallsymbolsrepresentingideas,emotionsorfeelings.

(2)limitvt.限制,限定n.[c]限度,限制;限量,限額belimitedto...“被限制在……”(to是介詞)limit...to...把…… 內(nèi)thereisa/nolimitto...……是有限無限的set/putalimiton...

(2)expandvi.

Emojisseemtohaveclearadvantagesoverwrittenlanguage.”(2)advantagen. 13.Infact,thisissimilartothegesturesweusewhenwespeak.

weuse為定語從句,修飾thegestures,從句省略了關(guān)系代詞that或which;when引導(dǎo)時(shí)間狀語從句14.Withasmilingorsadfaceaddedtoamessageorpost,yourreadercan“see”yourfacialexpressionwhilereadingyourwords.

e.g.Withthehomeworkfinished,shewentshopping.

e.g.Themanwithhisarmscrossedisourmathsteacher.

15.Emojiscanalsohelppeopleexpresstheirfeelingswhentheycannotfindtheappropriatewords.

16.Forinstance,ifyourfriendismovingacrossthecountry,youmayjustsendthemastringofcryingfacestoexpressyoursadnessoveryourseparation.

17.Theintentionoftheseadaptationsistomaketheclassicsmoreaccessibletoyoungreaders.

打算/想要做某事intendsb.todosth. 18.Somepeople,however,believethatthesenewversionshavetakenawaytheheartandsoulofShakespeare'splays. 19.Aswecansee,emojishaveatendencytopopupallovertheplace.

(2)tendencyn.
