(2)event意為“(重要、有意思或不尋常的)事件”e.g.Thiselectionisthemaineventofthisyear.
Languagepoints2.EvenattheriskofappearingtothisfairandwittyreviewerasanotherMrWoodhouse,Imustinsistthatlastnight'sfallofsnowherewasanevent.
e.g.Sheinsistedthatshewasright.
e.g.Janeinsistedthatheshouldbepresent. 3.Iwasnearlyasexcitedaboutitthismorningasthechildren,whomIfoundalllookingthroughthewindowatthemagicoutsideandtalkingawayasexcitedlyasifChristmashadsuddenlycomeroundagain.
4.Thefactis,however,thatthesnowwasasstrangeandfascinatingtomeasitwastothem.
5.Itisthefirstfallwehavehadherethiswinter,andlastyearIwasoutofthecountry,sweatinginahotclimate,duringthesnowyseason,sothatitreallydoesseemanagesinceIsawthegroundsofantasticallycarpeted.
6.Yougotobedinonekindofworldandwakeuptofindyourselfinanotherquitedifferent,andifthisisnotmagic,thenwhereisittobefound?
(1)補(bǔ)充完整后的前半句為“Yougotobedinonekindofworldandwakeuptofindyourselfinanotherquitedifferentworld”;(2)if引導(dǎo)條件狀語從句,句中this指代前半句Yougotobedinonekindofworldandwakeuptofindyourselfinanotherquitedifferent的內(nèi)容;(3)it指代magic。7.WhenIgotupthismorningtheworldwasacoldplaceofdeadwhiteandpaleblues.
8.Thelightthatcamethroughthewindowswasverystrange,anditmadethefamiliarbusinessofsplashingandshavingandbrushinganddressingverystrangetoo.
9.Thenthesuncameout,andbythetimeIhadsatdowntobreakfastitwasshiningbravelyandflushingthesnowwithdelicate
pinks.
(1)bythetime引導(dǎo)時(shí)間狀語從句;
10.Thelittleplumtreeoutside,withthefaintlyflushedsnowliningitsbranchesandartfullydisposedalongitstrunk,stoodinfullsunlight.
11.Itwasasifourkindlycountryside,closetotheveryheartofEngland,hadbeenturnedintoacruelgrassland.
12.Atanymoment,itseemed,abodyofhorsemenmightbeseenbreakingoutfromtheblacktrees,somanyweaponsmightbeheardandsomedistantspotofsnowbereddened.
e.g.Butthingsmaychangeatanymoment.
(2)“abodyofhorsemenmightbeseenbreakingoutfromtheblacktrees,somanyweaponsmightbeheardandsomedistantspotofsnowberedd
