Goodafternoon!TodayIwouldliketotalkabouttheimportanceofkeepingoptimistic.Whenweencounterdifficultiesinlife,wenoticethatsomeofuschoosetoburytheirheadsinthesand.Unfortunately,however,thisattitudewilldoyounogood,becauseifyouwillhavenocourageeventofacethem,howcanyouconquerthem?Thus,beoptimistic,ladiesandgentlemen,asitcangiveyouconfidenceandhelpyouseeyourselfthroughthehardtimes,justasWinstonChurchilloncesaid,“Anoptimistseesanopportunityineverycalamity;apessimistseesacalamityineveryopportunity.”

LadiesandGentlemen,keepingoptimistic,youwillbeabletorealize,inspiteofsomehardship,there’salwayshopewaitingforyou,whichwillleadyoutotheultimatesuccess.Historicallyaswellascurrently,therearetoomanyoptimistsofthiskindtoenumerate.Yousee,ThomasEdisonisoptimistic;ifnot,thelightofhopeinhisheartcouldnotilluminatethewholeworld.AlfredNobelisoptimistic;ifnot,thee*plosivesandtheprestigiousNobelPrizewouldnothavecomeintobeing.AndLanceArmstrongisalsooptimistic;ifnot,thedevilofcancerwouldhavedevouredhislifeandtheworldwouldnotseea5-timewinneroftheTourDeFrance.

Optimismalwaysleadstohappiness,healthandsuccesswhilepessimism,bycontrast,resultsinhopelessness,sicknessandfailure.Thatsbecauseoptimistsandpessimistsdealwiththesamechallengesanddisappointmentsinverydifferentways.Whenthingsgowrong,thepessimisttendstoblamehimself,whiletheoptimistlooksforloopholes.Theoptimistfeelsincontrolofhisoveralllife.Ifthingsaregoingbadly,heactsquickly,lookingforsolutions,forminganewplanofaction,andseekingforadvice.Onthecontrary,thepessimistyieldstothearrangementoffateandmovesslowly.Hedoesntseekadvice,sinceheassumesnothingcanbedone.

Mostpeopleareami*ofoptimismandpessimism.Optimismisimportantinallaspectsofourlives.Ifyoucanchangeyourmindfrompessimismtooptimism,youcanchangeyourlife.

Recently,Ihaveseenanimpressivefilm–Precious,whichtellsthegrowinge*periencesaboutaprettyfatblackgirl,PreciousJones,agirllivingintheHarlem.ThefilmrevealsthepoorandmiserablelifeintheHarlem,butatthesametime,itencouragespeopletotakeapositiveandoptimisticattitudetofaceit,nomatterhowdifficultitis.

最近,我看了一部印象深刻的電影——《珍愛》。這部電影講解并描述的是一個(gè)生活在哈勒姆區(qū)的漂亮胖女孩珍愛瓊斯的成長經(jīng)受。它揭露了哈勒姆區(qū)貧困痛楚的生活,但是,它也同時(shí)鼓舞了人們不管遇到什么樣的困難都要以積極樂觀的立場(chǎng)去面對(duì)生活。

Preciousissoundereducatedthatshecannotreadandwriteformally.What’sworse,sheisusuallyknockedaroundbyherirasciblemother.Worstofall,sheisse*uallyassaultedbyherstepfatherandhastwochildrenbeforetheageofseventeen.Owingtothesituationshegetsinvolved,shehastoleaveschoolandisintroducedtoalternativeschool.Afterwagingmanystrugglesandovercomingmanydifficulties,shefindsthegoalsoflifeagainwiththehelpofherteacherandclassmates.

珍愛受到很少的教育,所以她不能正常地讀書寫字。更糟的是,她常常被她母親急躁的脾氣逼得四處流浪。最糟的是,她被繼父強(qiáng)奸,未滿17歲就有了兩個(gè)小孩。鑒于她所際遇的狀況,她不得不輟學(xué)到替代學(xué)校學(xué)習(xí)。在經(jīng)受了一些掙扎,克服很多困難后,在老師和同學(xué)的援助下她重新找到了生活的目標(biāo)。

在電影中,盡管遇到許多困難,珍愛仍舊堅(jiān)持撫養(yǎng)她的孩子。她堅(jiān)信她能夠擺脫過去的生活有全新的開始,最終她做到了。她的堅(jiān)持告知我們,保持積極樂觀有助于實(shí)現(xiàn)理想。

Inlife,manypeopleareeasytofeelfrustratedbymeetingabitofsetback.AsfarasIamconcerned,weneedtolearntokeeppositiveandoptimisticwhenfacingdifficultiessothatwehavemorepowertokeepandpursueourdreams.

在生活中,許多人遇到一點(diǎn)挫折就簡單覺得懊喪。在我看來,遇到困難的時(shí)候,我們應(yīng)當(dāng)學(xué)會(huì)保持積極樂觀的立場(chǎng),這樣我們就有更多的能量去維持和追趕我們的理想。
