Thecountry’sstateownedoilcompaniesaimtosustainspendingata3yearhighduetoincreasingdemandanddecliningoilservicescosts.IndianOilplanstoexpanditsrefiningcapacityandbuildnewbusinesses,forwhichitwillbespendingUS$27.94billionoverthenext5-7years.

IndianOilCorpplanstomakeaninvestmentofUS$22.91billion,includingUS$7.64billionforexpandingitsexistingbrownfieldrefineries,inthenext5to7years.Moreover,thecompanyplanstolaythenation'slongestLPGpipelineof1987km,fromGujaratcoasttoGorakhpurineasternUttarPradesh,tocatertogrowingdemandforcookinggasinthecountry.

IndiatargetsUS$100billionworthinvestmentsingasinfrastructureby2022,includinganadditionofanother228citiestocitygasdistribution(CGD)network.ThiswouldincludesettingupofRLNGterminals,pipelineprojects,completionofthegasgridandsettingupofCGDnetworkinmorecities.

Oilcompaniesarefocusingonverticalintegrationfornextstageofgrowth.Forinstance,oilproducerOilIndiaLtdisplanningtobuildandoperaterefineries,whileIndianOilisplanningtoenteroilandgasexploration

AsofMarch2017,BharatPetroleumCorp.Ltd.(BPCL),anIndianstate-controlledoilandgascompany,planstoenterthecountry’stravelbusinesswiththelaunchofitsstartupnamedas“HappyRoads”.Theapplication,whichisavailableonAndroidPlayStore,documentsitinerariesandassiststheusersinplanningafun-filledtrip
