thediscoverymarkedahugesteptowarddeterminingthecauseofa

In1958,AustralianscientistDavidWarrendevelopeda

flight-memoryrecorderthatwouldtrackbasicinformationlike

altitudeanddirection.Thatwasthefirstmodelforablackbox,which
