meansadevicelocatedbetweentheelectricalsupplyandoneormorelamps,whichprovidesafunctionalityrelatedtotheoperationofthelamp(s),suchastransformingthesupplyvoltage,limitingthecurrentofthelamp(s)totherequiredvalue,providingstartingvoltageandpreheatingcurrent,preventingcoldstarting,correctingthepowerfactororreducingradiointerference.Thedevicemaybedesignedtoconnecttootherlampcontrolgeartoperformthesefunctions.Thetermdoesnotinclude:—controldevices—powersupplieswithinthescopeofCommissionRegu-lation(EC)No278/2009‘controldevice’

Forlampsotherthanhigh-intensitydischargelamps,thevalueandunit(‘lm’,‘K’and‘°’)ofthenominalusefulluminousflux,ofthecolourtemperatureandofthenominalbeamangleshallbedisplayedinalegiblefontonthesurfaceofthelampif,aftertheinclusionofsafety-relatedinformationsuchaspowerandvoltage,thereissufficientspaceavailableforitonthelampwithoutundulyobstructingthelightcomingfromthelamp.Ifthereisroomforonlyoneofthethreevalues,thenominalusefulluminousfluxshallbeprovided.Ifthereisroomfortwovalues,thenominalusefulluminousfluxandthecolourtemperatureshallbeprovided.1.nominalusefulluminousflux2.thenominalusefulluminousfluxandthecolourtemperature2.Informationtobevisiblydisplayedtoend-users,priortotheirpurchase,onthepackagingandonfreeaccesswebsitesTheinformationinparagraphs(a)to(o)belowshallbedisplayedonfreeaccesswebsitesandinanyotherformthemanufacturerdeemsappropriate.Iftheproductisplacedonthemarketinapackagingcontaininginformationtobevisiblydisplayedtotheend-users,priortotheirpurchase,theinformationshallalsobeclearlyandprominentlyindicatedonthepackaging.Theinformationdoesnotneedtousetheexactwordingonthelistbelow.Itmaybedisplayedintheformofgraphs,drawingsorsymbolsratherthantext.(a)Nominalusefulluminousfluxdisplayedinafontatleasttwiceaslargeasanydisplayofthenominallamppower;(b)Nominallifetimeofthelampinhours(notlongerthantheratedlifetime);(c)Colourtemperature,asavalueinKelvinsandalsoexpressedgraphicallyorinwords;(d)Numberofswitchingcyclesbeforeprematurefailure;(e)Warm-uptimeupto60%ofthefulllightoutput(maybeindicatedas‘instantfulllight’iflessthan1second);(f)Awarningifthelampcannotbedimmedorcanbedimmedonlyonspecificdimmers;inthelattercasealistofcompatibledimmersshallbealsoprovidedonthemanufacturer'swebsite;(g)Ifdesignedforoptimumuseinnon-standardconditions(suchasambienttemperatureTa≠25°Corspecificthermalmanagementisnecessary),informationonthoseconditions;(h)Lampdimensionsinmillimetres(lengthandlargestdiameter);(i)Nominalbeamangleindegrees;(j)Ifthelamp’sbeamangleis≥90°anditsusefulluminousfluxasdefinedinpoint1.1ofthisAnnexistobemeasuredina120°cone,awarningthatthelampisnotsuitableforaccentlighting;(k)Ifthelampcapisastandardisedtypealsousedwithfilamentlamps,butthelamp’sdimensionsaredifferentfromthedimensionsofthefilamentlamp(s)thatthelampismeanttoreplace,adrawingcomparingthelamp’sdimensionstothedimensionsofthefilamentlamp(s)itreplaces;Productinformationrequirementsfordirectionallamps(l)Anindication
