Scienceandtechnologyalsoplayanimportantroleinoursocialist

construction.Wemaysay,oursocialistconstructionisjustlikea

skyscraper,whilescienceandtechnologyareitsbase.Withoutthebase,

theskyscrapercan,tbebuilt.Therefore,weshouldtryourbestto

contributetothedevelopmentofscienceandtechnologysoastoprovide

3.ImportanceofEducation

surpassthedevelopedones.Ithinkthatoneofthebestpossibleways

scienceandespeciallyeducation.

Inmoderntimes,whenscienceandtechnologyaremakinggreatprogress,

theeducationoftheworkforceisofprimaryimportance.Moreover,many

prosperitymainlydependsonthequalityofitslabourforce,namelythose

4.AirPollution

Airpollutionisoneofthemajorproblemsofthemodernworld.Agreat

Automobile,trains,planesandbussesneedenergy,too.Nearlyallofthis

energyisproducedbyburningfuels.Theburningproduceswastes,some

industrialareasanddensely-populatedcities.Theyarestudyingnewways

ofgeneratingelectricitythatmaybelessdamagingtotheenvironment.

pollutedmaterial.Also,engineerstrytodesignandlocatenewpower

plantstodominimumdamagetotheenvironment.

However,itmaybethatwestillhavealongwaytogobeforewehavea

“clean"world.Nearlyallofthecountriesaretryinghardtopreventand

5.EnvironmentalProtection

Todaythequalityofournaturalenvironmenthasbecomeanimportantissue.

Theworldpopulationisrisingsoquicklythattheworldhasbecometoo

crowded.Weareusingupournaturalresourcesandatthesametime

pollutingourenvironmentwithdangerouschemicals.Ifwecontinuetodo

this,lifeonearthcannotsurvive.

Concernedpeoplehavemadesomeprogressinenvironmentalprotection.

Governmentsofmanycountrieshaveestablishedlawstoprotecttheair,

forestsandsearesourcesandtostopenvironmentalpollution.

citiesareovercrowdedwithautomobiles.Theycreatealotofnoiseand

trafficaccidentswhichdisable(傷殘)orkillmanypeopleeachyear.

Worstofallperhapsistheairpollutioncausedbytheexhaustgases

producedbyautomobiles.Someofthegasesarehighlytoxic(有毒的)and

aserioushealthhazard.

7.Computer

Thecomputeriswidelyusedinallfieldsofsociety.Today,whereveryou

go,youwillfindcomputersbeingused.Forexample,computersareused

inuniversities,largecorporations,andsmalloffices,etc.Ithaseven

enteredthehomesofordinarypeople.Asitisabletostoreandprocess

alargeamountofinformation,thecomputerbringaboutgreatconvenience

andhighefficiencytopeopleofallwalksoflife.

goalinlife.Ifyouarekindenoughtohelpothers,especiallythepoor,

moneyisagoodthingtoyou.Withit,youcandomuchmoreforthebenefit

ofpeopleandyourcountry,anditwillandtoyourownhappiness.Ifyou

wantmoneyjustforyourownneeds,you'11neverbesatisfiedorhappy.

Inaword,youshouldhavemoneyspentformorepeople,onlythencanmoney

bethesourceofyourhappiness.

18.Ideals

Everyonehashisideals.Abusinessmanwishestomakegreaterprofit;a

farmerexpectsbumperharvests;astudenttriestolearnmoreandbetter.

Oneshouldbesensibleaboutwhetherhisidealiswellfoundedornot.
