Paris2024wantedtocreatecontinuitybetweenthemedalandthepodium,thesetwosymbolsofperformancethatdefinetheidentityoftheGamesandtheprideofthehostcountry.ThedesignoftheOlympicandParalympicpodiumspodiumsisdirectlyinspiredbythemetallaceoftheEi?elTower,whichisalsofoundinotherGustaveEi?el’sworkssuchasthebridges.Thelinesandcurvesthatadorntheirfa?adeareanextensionofthemetalarchesthatmaketheworkofGustaveEi?eluniqueanditsassociationwithParisandFranceworldwide.ThegraysurfaceofthepodiumreferstothefamousParisianrooftops,takingthemedalliststotheskiesaboveParisinasymbolicway.Thechoiceofsobercolors(grayando?-white)andasleekdesignaimstoharmonisethepodiumwiththecolorfulandfestiveLookoftheGames,aswellasthecolorsoftheo?icialuniformsofeachdelegation.
