TheAutobiographywaswrittenbythegreatAmericanwriterBenjaminFranklinwhowasoneoftheAmericanfoundersandtheleaderoftheAmericanindependencemovement,aswellasthedrafterofDeclarationofindependence.Hewasapolitician,ascientist,adiplomat,apublisher,awriterandasocialindustrialist.HewaspraisedasthesecondPrometheuswhostolethefirefromheaventoshowhisintelligentandcontributions.HewasthefatherofthemoderncivilizationandasymbolofAmerica.

ThisautobiographywaswrittenbyBenjaminwhenhewasinhisoldageaccordingtohisexperienceswhichhasagreatinfluencetotheworld.Inhisautobiography,hewrotethirteenvirtues:temperance,silence,order,resolution,frugality,industry,sincerity,justice,moderation,cleanliness,tranquility,chastityandhumilitywhichadmonishedpeopletotrytobethebestofyourself.Bytemperancehetoldusnottoeattoodullandnottodrinktoomuchtobeclearinmind.Bysilenceheadvisedusnottosaysomethingthatismeaninglessbutcouldbenefitothersoryourself.Andbyorderhetaughtusthatweneedtotakeallourthingsinordersothatwecouldhaveatinyplacetostudy,workandlive.Resolutionshoweduswhatwedecidetodoneedtobedonewithourconsistency.Heinformedustohaveamorecomfortablelifeifwedon’twasteourmoneyinthoseemptyandmeaningfulthingsbyfrugality.What’smore,industryshowedusnottowasteourtime.Dosomethingthatissignificantorgoodforyou.Sinceritytoldustobealoyalandhonestpeoplewhocouldbetrustedbyothers.Andspeakwithaccordingly.Justicesinformedusnottodothingsarenegativetoothersandit’sourowndutytodothingsthatarebenefittopeople.Moderationtaughtusnottodoextremethings.Trytotoleratetheinjuriesfromothers.Andbycleanliness,hetaughtustobeatidyperson.Inaddition,heinformedustoclamdownwhenwecomeacrosssometroubles.Bychastity,headvisedustodothingsthatcouldbenefitorprotectyourself,yourfamilyandfriends’reputation.Lastly,trytobehumilityasmuchasyoucanandimitatethegreatpeoplelikeSocratesandJesus.
