文檔簡介

,人教修訂版 高中三年級 Unit 1,Writing,What kind of records can be accepted by the Guinness Book of World Records? Records that are just too dangerous, too easy, too specific, or just too boring to attempt wont be accepted.,Lead-in,Discussion,Some guidelines to help you: Animal & pet records,You may have the dog with the longest ears or the rabbit that jumps the highest, but we wont accept any claim unless it is supported by written proof from a vet.,Remember, we dont accept records for heaviest animals, as we dont want to encourage people to overfeed their pets. Biggest and smallest All miniscule and gigantic items should be perfectly scaled-down or,scaled-up versions of the real thing. They must be made from the correct materials and be fully functioning. Collections Interest in big collections, such as the worlds biggest collection of Barbie dolls, is evident from the many, requests we receive from collectors. To be considered for inclusion, collections should be contain broadly similar, but different items. Duplicates do not count. Food records Any attempt at creating large food items, such as the tallest cake, largest box of chocolates, or the longest sausage must be edible, and shown to be made hygienically. Big food needs to be a scaled-up version of the smaller thing, and all the ingredients must be the same.,Records to avoid Some records are just too dangerous, too easy, too specific, or just too boring to attempt. So before you attempt a record, read this list of what NOT to submit. Some record suggestions are, frankly, far too dangerous for us accept, especially if there is risk to spectators and members of the public, as well as to the individual participant or participants. Others are simply not enough of a challenge, too specific to an individual, or unbreakable.,Chewing gum,Driving on public roads,Small writing,Heavy pets,Small stuff,Horseback records,The list:,Writing,Fill in the form on Page 8, and you have to give a detailed description of the record attempt.
