Teaching focus & difficulty: Some language points and talk about some good manners in their daily life3. Teaching methods: Communicative methods;Task-based language teaching;direct method;explanation4. Teaching aids: Smart; pens; textbook;whiteboard5. Teaching process: Step1. Review Answer questions 1)Whats the proper way to greet people in the UK? 2)How do people start a conversation in the UK? Do they behave politely in public? 3)British people are very polite at home as well, arent they? Step2. Work out some important language points by yourself Step3.Language points 1. Whats the proper way to greet people there, Jenny? proper adj. 符合習(xí)俗的;正確的 e.g. She is always in her behaviour. 她的行為總是符合習(xí)俗。 2. British people say “hello” or “nice to meet you” and shake your hand when they meet you for the first time. shake sbs hand 與某人握手 e.g. Chinese people usually to express their friendliness. 中國(guó)人通常用握手來(lái)表達(dá)友好。 3. Do they greet people with a kiss? greet vt. 問(wèn)候;打招呼 greet somebody with 以方式跟人打招呼 e.g. She us with a smile. 她微笑著跟我們打了個(gè)招呼。 kiss n. 親吻 4. But please avoid subjects like age, weight or money. avoid vt,避免 后面直接跟賓語(yǔ)。 avoid后常跟v.ing形式,構(gòu)成avoid doing sth.結(jié)構(gòu),意為“避免做某事”。 e.g. You should such unhealthy food. 你應(yīng)避免吃這些不健康的食品。 5. Do people there behave politely in public? behave v. 表現(xiàn) e.g. I do not think its proper for you to so.我認(rèn)為您這樣的舉止不合體統(tǒng)。 public n. 民眾,群體 e.g. The palace is now open to . 宮殿現(xiàn)在向民眾開放了。 in public 公開地,在別人面前 e.g. Smoking is not allowed places. 公共場(chǎng)所不允許抽煙。 6. They think its rude to push in before others. It is + adj + (for sb) + to do sth. (對(duì)某人來(lái)說(shuō),)做某事 句型中的it是形式主語(yǔ),真正的主語(yǔ)是后面的to do sth. e.g.問(wèn)英國(guó)人多大年齡是不禮貌的。 push v. 推, 擠 和push相對(duì)應(yīng)的詞是pull,可意為“拉,拖,拔” 。 e.g. Dont the door. it, please. 不要推門。請(qǐng)拉開。 push in 插隊(duì),加塞 美國(guó)人常用“cut in” 7. If youre in their way, they wont touch you or push past you. in ones way 擋住某人的路 e.g. I couldnt walk very fast because a lot of people got . 我不能走的很快,因?yàn)楹芏嗳藫趿宋业穆贰?touch vt. 觸摸, 碰 e.g. You cant that thing. 你不能碰那個(gè)東西。 8. Theyll say “excuse me” and be polite enough to wait till you move. excuse既可以作名詞,也可以作動(dòng)詞。 作名詞時(shí),可意為“借口”;作動(dòng)詞時(shí),可意為“原諒”。 e.g. Mary explained why she was late, but we didnt accept her excuse. 瑪麗解釋了為什么他遲到了,但是我們沒(méi)有接受她的借口。 Please excuse him for arriving late.請(qǐng)?jiān)徦麃?lái)晚了。 Excuse me. 勞駕 Excuse me和Im sorry的用法不同,前者是打擾或麻煩別人的客套用語(yǔ),后者則是做錯(cuò)事后的道歉用語(yǔ)。 e.g. Excuse me. Can you tell me how to go to the park? 勞駕,你能告訴我如何去公園嗎? Im sorry. I broke your glass this morning. 很抱歉,我早上打碎了你的杯子。 9. British people are very polite at home as well, arent they? as well (as) 也,還有 e.g. I write my own songs and I play the guitar as well. 我唱自己譜曲的歌,也彈吉他。 as well一般不用否定句,通常放在句末,強(qiáng)調(diào)時(shí)可放在句中。 either用于否定句,放在句末,之前加逗號(hào)。 too語(yǔ)氣較輕,多用于口語(yǔ),在肯定句中使用,通常位于句末。 also比too正式一些,語(yǔ)氣較重,只用于肯定句,一般緊靠動(dòng)詞。 10. Just as the saying goes, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.” saying n. 諺語(yǔ);格言 e.g. My grandpa knows a lot of English sayings. 我的祖母知道很多英語(yǔ)格言。 When in Rome, do as the Romans do. 入鄉(xiāng)隨俗。英語(yǔ)習(xí)語(yǔ),其省略形式when in Rome也可以表達(dá)同樣的意思。 Step3.Exercises 一、選擇合適短語(yǔ)完成句子。as well in ones way in public push in shake sbs hand 1.
