And ask the Ss to help rewrite the sentences by using “if” or “whether” to make object clauses by themseleves. 2. To check the answers. To ask five students to read their answers one by one and the other Ss to check their own aswers carefully.3. To explain Part C2 to the Ss. Daniel is writing in his diary about what he has found about living on Mars. And ask them to complete his diary e. To divide the Ss to into groups of four and to see which group will finish the diary fastest. 4. To check the answers. To ask the fastest group to read out their answers and the other students to check their own answers .If they have any questions ,they can put up their hands and state their opinions.Step Four. Explantion to the grammar1. When an object clause expresses a “Yes or No” question.We can use “if” or “whether” to join the sentence .The conjactions “if ” and “whether” can be used instead of each other. However “whether” can be used with “or not” ,while “if” cannt be used with “ or not”. After a preposition ,we can only use “whether” .In that clause, we often use the same word order as in a statement. I dont know_(if, whether) he will come tomorrow. The tense of the object clause depends on the tense of the main clause.
