中英文日報(bào)導(dǎo)航站Comments of Datacomm Products in Huawei Exhibition HallMay, 2005I. General Introduction of Datacomm ProductsStrong Datacomm R&D of HuaweiHuawei Technologies started the R&D of data communications products in 1994. During 10 years development, Huaweis datacom product began from one type of Access Server to full series routers and LAN switches to satisfy various requirements of our customers. In Huawei, there are more than 10,000 R&D staffs. And quarters of them are dedicated to data communications. Among Huaweis global research institutes, Beijing, Nanjing in China, Bangalore in India and Silicon Valley in USA focus on data communications. In addition, the Bangalore Research Institute and the Nanjing Research Institute have passed CMM5 (Capability Maturity Model Level 5) certification, and the Beijing Research Institute has passed CMM4 certification. As a member of major international communication standard organizations and forums such as ITU-T, MPLS, RPR and ATM, Huawei has been actively taking part in the formulation of international standards.Quidway Full Series Datacomm ProductsHuawei could provide the end-to-end IP solution. There are six product lines in data communications field of Huawei, including Routers, LAN switches, Security firewall, BRAS, WLAN and NM system. Huawei has been the one of few suppliers that can provide full series datacomm solutions in the world.Huawei Datacomm Worldwide Market ProgressWorldwide product deployed in 66 countries and regions, including U.K, Thailand, Russia, Korean, Brazil, etc, and the market share in China last year is nearly close to Cisco as No.2.Till now, there are more than 10,000 sets Quidway NetEngine series routers running on networks. And more than 4,300 Quidway S8500 series high-end Switches deployed around the world. Huawei has sold more than 400,000 low-end and middle-end routers and over 780,000 LAN switches. Quidway MA5200 series BRAS have been sold more than 8600 sets.In Chinas new backbone network market, Huawei holds a market share of over 40%.II. Introduction for PosterPoster 1: Huawei End to End IP SolutionHuawei could provide the end-to-end IP solution including total series routers and LAN Switches in low-end, middle-end and high-end, as well as series Security firewall products and series Internet Access Server. The left product line is our series routers including the core layer routers, Quidway NetEngine 5000/ 80 / 40-8 / 40-4 / 40-2; the backbone layer routers, Quidway NetEngine 16E / 08E / 05; the multi-service modular routers, Quidway AR 46/28 series routers; the SOHO/Branch access routers, Quidway AR 18 series routers. The right products line is our series Lanswitches including the backbone core multi-layer routing switch, Quidway S8500/6500 series; the convergence layer gigabit switch, Quidway S5000 series; the fast ethernet switch, Quidway S3000/3500 series; the access ethernet switch, Quidway S2000 series. The middle products line is our series security firewall including Quidway Eudemon 1000 and Eudemon 200/100 series. The upper products are our network management system, Quidway iManager Quidview and network service management system, Quidway iManager VPN Manager which manage Huawei MPLS VPN service.Poster 2: IP Telecom Network (IPTN)Introduction of Datacomm technologies innovated by HuaweiAs a member of major international communication standard organizations and forums such as ITU-T, IETF, MPLS, RPR and ATM, Huawei has been actively participated in 39 international standardization organizations and submitted a mass of proposals focusing on the development of IP Network, such as HoPE(Hierarchy of Provider Edge Device in BGP/MPLS VPN) and Building Carrier-Class IP Networks. As we all know, the telecommunications network of the next generation will inevitably be a multi-service intelligent network with IP technology as its core, and this will be an inevitable result of the development of both technologies and industries.Viewed from the point of technologies, the traditional telecommunications network can no longer meet the requirements of further development, and the current Internet is defective in terms of operation management and service providing capability, whereas IP telecom network based on IP technology + telecom-level operation requirements will be the next development direction.Viewed from the point of industry development, all the factors of defection of the original technologies, changes of service environment, the downturn of voice services, the upturn of data and integrated services, and that new carriers are liable to use new technologies, have promoted the evolution of telecom network of the next generation to IP telecom network.Based on such analysis, Huawei put forward the theory named “IPTN”- IP Telecom Network which be received by ITU-T as the drafts of Next Generation Network.Huaweis IP telecom network solutions apply the call management experiences of telecom networks to IP networks and implement the dynamic QoS policy management of call-based real time network bandwidth and service priority adjustment, which greatly improves the service quality of the IP base network. As shown in the above diagram, the basic network layer will be divided into two different logical networks, i.e., the IP telecom network and Internet, by means of resource separation via the MPLS technology. The IP telecom network will bear guaranteed telecom-level services, while the Internet will bear the traditional and free Internet. The RM (resource management server) concept is introduced into the bearer control layer, so as to realize management over regional network topology and resources. When receiving a request from the service platform for resources, the RM will decide, according to the regional network topology and resource usage, whether to accept the call, thus implementing CAC (Connection Admission Control). The QoS of the entire network can be guaranteed for cross-region services via coordination between RMs.The CMCC IP backbone network, which introduced in WCDMA stand, is an application to the concept of IPTN.Poster 3: The 5th Generation RouterAs we know, the router technology have past five generation. The first generation router based on fixed interface and centralized structure. All the work done by a central CPU. The second generation make the interface modularized, and it is more flexible then first generation. All these two kinds of routers have the same character, in one aspect that it is flexible for every thing done by CPU, which means that new feature can be easily added by software upgrading. On the other hand, for centralized structure, the performance can not be guaranteed. So, the third generation routers based on the distributed structure have one CPU in each service board. It improves the whole performance of the router. And then the forth generation router coming with ASIC technology have one ASIC chip in each service board and have more advanced performance than CPU because of its hardware. But just about its hardware, it is not flexible enough. Especially with the rapid development of IP technology, new service and features come one day after another. If the core router based on four generation, you have to change hardware when you want to add some new features and services such as MPLS, QOS and so on. Juniper is the spokesman of the 4th generation router. AS we all know, Many GSR from other vendors, if you need MPLS service, you have to replace the old line card with a new one, this will severely affect the service, and waste a lot of cost. The 5th Generation Router which use NP (network processor) to instead of the ASIC on the board. It has the advantage of both CPU and ASIC with good flexibility and high performance. You only need software upgrading for some new service, even from IPV4 to IPV6. Huaweis high-end routers all base on NP technology and Huawei has been the spokesman of the 5th generation router.Poster 4: Hierarchy of Provider Edge Device (HoPE)As we know, in the deployment of BGP/MPLS VPN, the PE(Provider Edge) device should maintain all the VPN routes of the VPNs which it belong to. If there are many VPNs attaching to a PE, and the capacity of PE is somewhat limited, then the bottleneck will be encountered.Another problem is that the current BGP/MPLS VPN model is something of a “Plane Model” where the demand of the performance of the PE device are all the same no matter which layer the PE device is belongs to. However, the typical network is Core-Convergence-Access(Edge) layered model, and the performance of the device is high in Core Layer and low in Access Layer, and the scale of network is large in Access Layer and small in Core Layer, the routes are converged in every layer. So in current Plane Model, when PE device extends to the edge layer, it has to maintain more VPN routes, which makes it difficult to extend the PE device to edge layer.Concern this problem, based on our rich experience on MPLS technology, Huawei propose a new solution for MPLS deployment which of the draft have already submit to the international organizationIETF.In this solution, we defines a model of Hierarchy of Provider Edge Device in BGP/MPLS VPN, where Hierarchy of Provider Edge Device can be composed of several PE and each PE plays the different part and partake the function of the normal PE(RFC 2547 PE). We call this model as Hierarchy Model in which the demand of performance in Routing and Switching is strict to the PE device in higher layer, loose to the PE device in edge layer. One HoPE can be composed of one SPE and several UPEs connected with the SPE, or be composed of one high-level SPE and HoPEs connected and build up a new HoPE. This build is called nesting of HoPE.This solution have been used by a lot of big account and accepted with high praise.Poster 5: CMCC National IP Bear Backbone in ChinaThis poster is the IP bearing network for CMCC. Huawei use 55 sets NE80/40 and soft-switch equipments to help CMCC to build up the National IP backbone Network. This IP backbone network is the most advance IP Telecom Network and the biggest capacity NGN IP Bear Network in the world. There are two planes in this network. The Plane A is responsible for NGN service, and the Plane B is responsible for VPN service and NGN NM service. They can work together and backup each other. When one plane failed, the service can switch over to the other plane less than 25ms, which does not impact the voice connection. This network has borne all the long-distance trunks of CMCC. Because the next generation network have to bear all the services, including voice, data, video, etc, so IP will be the core of the next generation network. And IP Bear Backbone is the base of all the next generation telecom network, such as NGN and 3GPoster 6: IZB Financial Backbone Network in Germany IZB is a financial operator in Germany. As we know the most impartment requirement in financial network is reliability, security and stability. After strictly testing, IZB select NE40 to build their backbone network because of its carries-class features and abundant services can satisfy all the requirements. This network helps IZB to provide the services, such as MPLS VPN, VoIP, to their customers.III. Introduction of Quidway Full Series ProductsThe 5th Generation Routers feature the performance of an ASIC and the flexible service support of a CPU. Designed with carrier-class ideas and featuring high reliability and perfect line speed forwarding performance, NetEngine series routers play important roles in national backbone and metropolitan backbone networks.NetEngine 5000E Terabit Core RouterThis is the highest router of Huawei.
