1、senior-grade tworeading comprehension1. 詞匯量不夠,猜測詞義能力差;2. 語法基礎(chǔ)不扎實,句子結(jié)構(gòu)不熟悉;3. 背景知識匱乏,理解能力差;4. 沒有良好的閱讀習慣;5. 閱讀經(jīng)驗不足,不能靈活運用各種閱讀技巧;詞義猜測猜詞是應(yīng)用英語的重要能力。它不但需要準確無誤地理解上下文,而且要有較大的泛讀 量,掌握或認識較多的課外詞匯。我們要學(xué)會“順藤摸瓜”,通過構(gòu)詞,語法,定義,同位, 對比,因果,常識,上下文等線索確定詞義。1)定義法it will be very hard but also very brittle.that is, it will break

5、思是她今天“第一節(jié)上了一半 才來”,因此反向推理,可得出她平時一向“準時”的結(jié)論。通過同義詞猜詞,一是要看由and或or連接的同義詞詞組,如happy and gay,即使我們 不認識gay這個詞,也可以知道它是愉快的意思;二是看在進一步解釋的過程中使用的同義 詞,如 man has known something about the planets venus» mars, and jupiter with the help ofspaceships 此句屮的venus(金星)、mars(火星)、jupiter(木星)均為生詞,但只要知道planets就可猜出 這幾個詞都屬于“行星
