Students will spend th

9、e time in Estonia in two locations: Tallinn, which is the capital of Estonia () and Tartu (), which is the location of the main campus of the University of Tartu. Students will stay in the student hostels, which are located in the city centers, double occupancy. Breakfast is provided in or near all

10、hostels and in all hotels and hostels in other countries.The program includes visits to Stockholm (capital of Sweden) with one overnight stay in Stockholm and two overnights stays in the ferry, and Paris (capital of France) with three overnight stays. The goal of the program is to introduce the stud

11、ents to the culture, societies and history (including current politics, economics and social systems) of the European Union, with emphasis on the Nordic countries. The program will include lectures and seminars in the mornings and cultural program/visits in the afternoons.The daily schedule will bec

12、ome available one month prior to the start of the program.The program will include the following elements.I. Tallinn, capitol of Estonia 7 days (6 nights)Accommodation either at a university hostel in the city.The academic program in Tallinn will include:- Lectures about current social issues facing

13、 the European countries- Lectures about cultural and economic relations between China and the Nordic countries- Attendance of lectures for other international students about European societies, history and politicsThe cultural program in Tallinn will include:- City walking tour- welcome reception -

14、visit to the Estonian History Museum - visit to the Art Museum KUMU- visit to the Seaplane Harbor- visit to the European Commission- attendance of a performance- visit to the Estonian Parliament- farewell eventII. Stockholm, capitol of Sweden4 days (3 nights)The participants will sail on a Tallink (

15、) ferry to reach Stockholm. The ferry departs Tallinn in the evening and reaches Stockholm in the following morning. Students will sleep in the passenger cabins at the ferry and will be able to enjoy a ride on one of the most modern ships sailing at the Baltic Sea.Upon arrival in Stockholm the stude

16、nts will proceed to a guided walking tour, visiting the Royal Palace and other historical sites. The students will also visit one of the famous universities in Stockholm and get introduced to its study programs and admissions requirements for international students.Accommodation will be in one of th

17、e international student hostels.The evening and the whole next day will be free time.Departure to Tallinn on a Tallink ferry in the evening and arrival next morning. Accommodation for the night in comparable cabins at the ferry.III. Tartu, the site of the University of Tartu6 days (5 nights)Accommod

18、ation at the university international student hostel.The academic program in Tartu will include:- Practical training: how to apply to European universities- Introduction to the Baltic cultures (whole-day seminar)- Seminar introducing Estonian history and folk-traditions- Attendance of lectures offer

19、ed to other international students on the subjects of politics and sociologyThe cultural program in Tartu will include:- city walking tour- tour of the University of Tartu and its museums- visit to the Estonian National Museum- attendance of a selected cultural event- whole-day event: river canoeing

Paris, capitol of France (with the option of changing the city to Rome, capitol of Italy)4 days (3 nights)As noted above, during Spring 2013 the University of Tartu can announce the possibility and terms of offering an alternative of Rome. In this case Shanghai University needs to choose the city. We assume that the costs of Rome will be comparable to the current option of Paris.The group will fly to Paris (Rome) and return to Tallinn.The
