Main objectives: To inspire students independence and imagination; To motivate students caring for the future of their life.III.Teaching methods:Reading, Speaking, discussing .ListeningIV. Language focus: New words: chemist, wage, income, reward, c

3、harge, etc.V. Teaching proceduresStep I. Lead- in:1. Show some pictures to present the topic of the topicCareers, encouraging the Ss to talk about them.2. Learn the new words and try to distinguish and use them correctly.3. Practise reading the words and have an oral dictation if possible.Step II. W

4、arm-up1. Oral practice. Get the Ss to see the six photos on the page and discuss the question: Which job does he or she do in the photo? 2. Encourage the Ss to check up their answers orally in pairs, using: What does he do ? or Which job can you see in the picture? etc.3. Team work. Try to name more

5、 jobs to add to the list with the class.poet, teacher, athlete, astronaut, singer, politician, nurse, etc.Step III. Listening1. Introduce the for listening passages and get the Ss to prepare for the task write down the jobs from the key words in Ex 1.2. Play the tape for the Ss to fill in the blanks

6、 with the job-related words.3. Ss discuss the answers and try to find the key words or sentences to support them for each situation.4. Call out some Ss to state their answers orally.Step IV WritingEx4. Complete the sentences with the words below on the page. Make sure the Ss understand the sentences

7、 and distinguish the key words correctly. Then check the answers one by one orally, with the explanation if necessary.Step V Discussion1 .Present the oral task, and let the Ss imagine their favorite future job. 2. Ss discuss and tell the class their dreaming jobs and state the reason.3.
