This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of

It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of bad captivity.But one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free. one hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. one hundred years
3、 later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. one hundred years later, the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. So weve come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.I
4、 am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations. Some of you have come fresh from narrow jail cells. Some of you have come from areas where your quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of police brutality. You
5、 have been the veterans of creative suffering. continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive.Go back to mississippi, go back to Alabama, go back to South carolina, go back to Georgia, go back to Louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that
6、somehow this situation can and will be changed. Let us not wallow in the valley of despair.I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.I have a dream that one day this nation wi
7、ll rise up, live up to the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident; that all men are created equal.”I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave-owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brot
8、herhood.I have a dream that one day even the state of mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be
9、 judged by the color if their skin but by the content of their character.I have a dream today.I have a dream that one day down in Alabama with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification, one day right down in Alabama little black boys and black girls will
10、 be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.I have a dream today.I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the
11、glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.This is our hope. This is the faith that I go back to the South with. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of
12、our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.This will be the day when all of Gods children will be able to

15、Georgia!Let freedom ring from Lookout mountain of Tennessee!Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of mississippi!From every mountainside, let freedom ring!When we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to sp

18、的旋風(fēng)中搖搖欲墜。你們是人為痛苦的長(zhǎng)期受難者。堅(jiān)持下去吧,要堅(jiān)決相信,忍受不應(yīng)得的痛苦是一種贖罪。讓我們回到密西西比去,回到阿拉巴馬去,回到南卡羅萊納去,回到佐治亞去,回到路易斯安那去,回到我們北方城市中的貧民區(qū)和少數(shù)民族居住區(qū)去,要心中有數(shù),這種狀況是能夠也必將改變的。我們不要陷入絕望而不能自拔。朋友們,今天我對(duì)你們說,在此時(shí)此刻,我們雖然遭受種種困難和挫折,我仍然有一個(gè)夢(mèng)想。這個(gè)夢(mèng)是深深扎根于美國的夢(mèng)想中的。我夢(mèng)想有一天,這個(gè)國家會(huì)站立起來,真正實(shí)現(xiàn)其信條的真諦:“我們認(rèn)為這些真理是不言而喻的;人人生而平等?!蔽覊?mèng)想有一天,在佐治亞的紅山上,昔日奴隸的兒子將能夠和昔日奴隸主的兒子坐在一起,共敘兄弟情誼。我夢(mèng)想有一天,甚至連密西西比州這個(gè)正義匿跡,壓迫成風(fēng),如同沙漠般的地方,也將變成自由和正義的綠洲。我夢(mèng)想有一天,我的四個(gè)孩子將在一個(gè)不是以他們的膚色,而是以他們的品格優(yōu)劣來評(píng)判他們的國度里生活。我今天有一個(gè)夢(mèng)想。我夢(mèng)想有一天,阿拉巴馬州能夠有所轉(zhuǎn)變,盡管該州州長(zhǎng)現(xiàn)在仍然滿口異議,反對(duì)聯(lián)邦法令,但有著一日,那里的黑人男孩和女孩將能夠與白人男孩和女孩情同骨肉,攜手并進(jìn)。我今天有一個(gè)夢(mèng)想。我夢(mèng)想有一天,幽谷上升,高山下降,坎坷曲折之路成坦
