And it doesnt mean that we desert them, we can often visit them and comfort themAged parents will fell

However, at the nursing homes, they will have many companions to talk with and to play with.Some aged parents are in bad health, but their children are busy with their work. 31、 influences.Against:(1)School uniforms inhibit students individuality. Young people often express their feelings through the clothing that they wear. Uniforms will take away this form of expression. Why should school districts try to make everyone look the same?(2) . A school uniform policy inhibits

32、 a students freedom of choice. Schools teach students that our country is a free one. But when school boards make students wear what they tell them too- it curtails the students freedom.(3)There is the issue of cost. Many parents shop for their childrens clothes at used and discount stores. Uniforms

33、 can cost more money than these families might be able to afford. Also, these students would need to buy additional clothing to wear after school and on the weekends. Thats double the amount of money a family would spend than they would without the uniforms.(4)The another reason I do not enjoy the t

34、hought of school uniforms is comfort. Students enjoy wearing comfortable clothing to school. Uniforms are not necessarily comfortable. This took the fashion element out of my experience, yes, but it also made the morning less hectic. It completely eliminates fights bet

It shouldnt be the most important decision a child or teen has to make in the morning.*Money Saving Parents have a lot of financial decision to make. One of them shouldnt be about how much money they

45、are willing to spend to keep their child up to date with what others are wearing. Theres a place for fashion clothing, but is it important to make a fashion statement every day at school? Having a uniform allows children to keep their best clothes for going out, making them appreciate them more; and

46、 it allows parents to save money for things that are more important to their childs life.*Equality. Clothing is just one of the many areas in which students are harshly judged by their peers. I was already last to be chosen in gym because of my size. I cant imagine how bad it would be if I was also

47、judged because my parents couldnt afford to buy me designer jeans. Uniforms even the playing field, at least in one aspect of school life. *Focus. I didnt wear my uniform anywhere else but school, so putting it on put my mind in the frame of school. You know how different you feel when you dress up.

48、 You sit differently at home when you are in your grungy clothes than when you are wearing your work clothes. You associate different activities with clothes.I remember the first time I saw a parent buying school clothes for her child. I couldnt tell the difference between school clothes and play cl

49、othes, since the parent was buying a variety of shorts and T-shirts. If I couldnt tell the difference, Im sure the child couldnt. While children should have fun in school, uniforms provide a subtle reminder that there is something different happening at school than at home or at the park.*Setting Pr

50、iorities. What do we tell our children when we start them in Kindergarten with designer clothes and shoes? I know that all parents dont fall into the label trap, but many do. And, as Ive mentioned previously, those who cant afford the labels are harshly judged by those who cant. When wearing a label

51、 becomes a priority, it sets priorities out of whack. Whats more important making a fashion statement or getting a good education? Im not saying that wearing fashion clothing eliminates the possibility of a good education. Im just saying that putting more time and money into fashion clothing tells c

52、hildren that it is more important than education.What surprises me most with this issue is the number of people who are against uniforms. There is nothing about them that will harm a student - yet students and parents have a lot to gain from them if they only take a moment to consider the benefits.A

53、GAINSTI dont believe that public school students should be required to wear uniforms. There are many problems with enforcing a uniform in public schools, but for the sake of not turning this into a book, I will only name a few. 1. Individuality- With most schools cutting most arts out of their budge

54、ts and writing assignments being mostly research papers and reports, how else do students have to express themselves but with their clothing and hair styles? Most school uniforms require students to only wear certain colors, styles, and some even limit hair styles! How is a student supposed to show

55、his or her uniqueness?2. Concentration- I have found that students required to wear uniforms are more focused on what they can or cant wear that they start slipping up when it comes to academic work. Most students come to think negatively about the school and even begin to hate attending classes. 3.

56、 Safety- Most schools are enforcing a uniform because they are worried about gangs, other violence, popularity negatively affecting their students. I believe that they fail to realize that students will adjust and learn to represent their status regardless of what they are required to wear. Populari

57、ty will still be an issue surrounding students no matter what any school tries to do. It is just a fact of life. Some people are more popular to others and there are always gong to be cruel people in existence. 4.School uniforms have placed on extra burden on lower-middle class parents, and there ar

58、e many discrimination among the different uniforms in different school.Schools need to seriously attempt to enforce their current dress codes before instating a uniform policy. At my old high school, there was a dress code, but they adopted a uniform because, .a majority of students arent adhering t

59、o the dress code. Therefore, we believe a uniform is the best action to take. Students werent adhering to the dress code because there was NO punishment for it. Teachers were supposed to write two warnings and after that, they were to suspend the student. The teachers felt that it took too much of t

60、heir time to write the warnings and depended on the administrators to issue them. Schools need to consider their students and the negative and positive outcomes of having a uniform.
