12、iod in 2019. In Q220, deals declined 16% quarter-over-quarter (QoQ), while dollars declined 23% to $461M. Investors are focused on technology to make stores more efficient and connect retailers physical and digital operations.E-commerce funding ticks up in Q220: E-commerce deals and dollars declined

13、 in H120 vs. H119. But as the pandemic pushed more buying online, funding increased 6% QoQ in Q220 to $3.1B. Deals declined slightly during this period, falling 7% to 277. Social commerce startups, resale platforms, and virtual shopping tools all received attention as retailers rushed to improve the

14、 online shopping experience.Funding to new retail formats rises in Q220: As brands and retailers looked for new, safer ways to reach shoppers in person, investors funneled more funding into new retail formats like mobile- enabled vending machines and contactless checkout.
