5夫子廟TheConfuciusTemple5TheConfuciusTempleinNanjingwasoriginallyconstructedintheyearof1034intheSongDynasty.ItwasaplacetoworshipandconsecrateConfucius,thegreatphilosopherandeducatorofancientChina.ItisalsoknownasFuzimiaoinChinese.Duringthelongprocess,theoriginalbuildingexpandedtobeacomplexbuildinginthearchitecturalstyleoftheMing(1368-1644)andQing(1644-1911)dynasties,includingtheConfuciusTempleitself,theJiangnanGongyuan(theplaceofimperialexaminations)andtheXueGong(theImperialAcademy).ThecomplexisstillcalledtheConfuciusTempleoutofhabitbylocalsandvisitors.6TheConfuciusTempleinNanjinInfrontoftheConfuciusTemple,theQinHuaiRiverisflowing.Onthesouthbankoftheriver,thereisthelongestscreenwallinChinawhichis110-meter-long(about120yards)andpiledwithbricks.

Theareaaroundthetempleconsistsofaseriesoftouristshops,snackbars,restaurantsandteacafes.TheyallappeartobeinthearchitecturalstyleoftheMingandQingstyle.Avarietyofsnacksencompassingeightofthemostfamousflavoursareavailableforpurchaseathere.Everyone'sindividualtastesarewellcateredfor.TheyarenecessarypartsoffoodcultureinNanjing.7InfrontoftheConfuciusTemp中山陵SunYat-sen'sMausoleum

8中山陵SunYat-sen'sMausoleum8Coveringanareaof80,000squaremeters(about20acres),Dr.SunYat-sen'sMausoleumislocatedintheZhongMountainScenicAreaintheeastsuburbofNanjingCity,JiangsuProvince.AsthemausoleumofDr.SunYat-sen,thefatheroftheRepublicofChina,itisconsideredtheHolylandofChinesepeoplebothhomeandabroad.Withdeephistoricalsignificance,magnificentarchitectureandbeautifulscenery,itisamustseewhentravelinginNanjing.9Coveringanareaof80,000squDr.SunYat-sen(1866-1925)wasagreatforerunneroftheChinesedemocraticrevolutionandledbyDr.SuntheChinesepeoplebroughtdownthecorruptruleoftheQingDynasty(1644-1911)andended2000yearsofthefeudalmonarchysystem,whichledtheChinesepeoplesintoanewage.10Dr.SunYat-sen(1866-1925)waThemajesticmausoleum'sconstructionwasstartedin1926andcompletedin1929.ThewholeMausoleumScenicArearepresentsanalarmbellasseenfromtheair,symbolizingthenoblespiritandheroiceffortsofDr.SunYat-sen'sdevotiontotheChinesepeople,fightofoppressionandwiningtheindependenceofChina.Facingsouth,thestructures,alongwiththemountainascendsgraduallyalongwiththecentralaxislinerunningfromsouthtothenorthandisregardedasthemostoutstandingmausoleuminChinesemodernarchitecturalhistory.11Themajesticmausoleum'sconst明孝陵MingXiaolingMausoleum12明孝陵MingXiaolingMausoleum12MingXiaolingMausoleumisoneofthebiggestimperialtombsinChina.ItliesintheeasternsuburbsofNanjingCityatthesouthernfootofZhongshan(Purple)Mountain.EmperorChengzu,ZhuYuanzhang,thefirstemperoroftheMingDynasty(1368-1644)andQueenMawereburiedthere.Constructionofthemausoleumbeganin1381andwascompletedin1431.In1384,QueenMadiedandwasburiedthere.EmperorChengzuhadbestoweduponherthetitle'QueenofXiaoCi'whichmeans'QueenofFilialPietyandKindness.'Hence,thenameMingXiaolingderivesfromhertitle.Themausoleumhastwodiscreetsections:OneistheSacredWayareaandtheotheristhemainbodyofthemausoleumitself.13MingXiaolingMausoleumisoneMingXiaolingMausoleumisrenownedforitsuniquedesign,itseminentstatus,itsamazingbeautyanditsmagnificentscale.It'sthemilestoneinthehistoricaldevelopmentofChinesemausoleums.Asanextensionofthe'ImperialTombsoftheMingandQingDynasties,itislistedbyUNESCOasaworldculturalheritagesite.14MingXiaolingMausoleumisren南京博物館NanjingMuseum15南京博物館NanjingMuseum15Coveringanareaof12.9hectare,NanjingMuseumissituatedinsidetheZhongshanGateofthecityfromwhichittakesitsname.Itwasoriginallyestablishedin1933,proposedbyMr.CaiYuanpei(amoderndemocraticrevolutionaryandeducationist),andnownumbersamongitsextensivecollectionssome2,000firstclasstreasuresofnationalandculturalinterest.ShouldyoubefascinatedbythelongandculturedhistoryofChina,thenthisMuseumisa'must-see'foryou.Letitbeanabsolutelyindispensablepartofyouritinerary.Valuabletreasures:Thetwomainbuildings,inastyleofablendofeastandwest,wefindaveritablefeastofhistoricalandrevolutionaryculturalrelics,paintings,calligraphies,andancientbooks-someofthemfromabroad.AmongthemthemostrepresentativeonesarealargenumberofporcelainsfromthepalaceofQingdynasty(221BC-206BC),andrelicsexcavatedfromruinsofShangdynasty(16th-11thcenturyBC).16Coveringanareaof12.9hectaTheBasicHallwithitstwostoreys,ismainlyforthedisplayofhistoricalitems,andisabuildinginthestyleofanancientpalaceofLiao(916-1125).Therearethreespecialexhibitionsections:

ThisrichbanquetinthreecoursesattractsvisitorsfromaroundChinaandtheworldingeneral.NanjingMuseumhasbeenregardedasoneofthemostadvancedandpopularamongmuseumsofitsclassinChina,andanimportanteducationalbaseforstudents.17TheBasicHallwithitstwost18181919南京長(zhǎng)江大橋TheYangtzeRiverBridge
