阿斯旺水壩(AswanHighDam)位于埃及開羅以南900公里的尼羅河畔,尼羅河美麗的自然景觀,舒適的熱帶氣候,豐富的文物古跡和世界上首屈一指的高壩,使阿斯旺的旅游業(yè)特別發(fā)達(dá)。水壩的建設(shè)自1960開始,歷時(shí)10年,耗資9億美元,站在111米的阿斯旺水壩上,腳下波濤翻滾的世界第一長(zhǎng)河尼羅河被攔腰截?cái)?,放眼南望是?5公里長(zhǎng)500多公里的納賽爾湖,這座世界第二大人工湖吞下尼羅河的全年徑流,實(shí)現(xiàn)河水多年調(diào)節(jié),使1964年的洪水,1972年的干旱,1975年的特大洪峰和1982年以來的持續(xù)低水位都化險(xiǎn)為夷。在幾乎全非洲都在鬧饑荒的時(shí)候,埃及的糧食基本自給自足。
