書(shū)中講述了有個(gè)英國(guó)人名叫魯濱遜，喜歡航海和冒險(xiǎn)。他本可以按照父親的安排，依靠殷實(shí)的家業(yè)過(guò)一種平靜而優(yōu)裕的生活。然而，一心想外出闖蕩的魯濱遜卻當(dāng)上了充滿驚險(xiǎn)和刺激的水手，由于難以想象的堅(jiān)強(qiáng)，毅力和勇氣，依靠自己的智慧和辛勤勞動(dòng)，開(kāi)荒種地，砍樹(shù)建房，圈養(yǎng)山羊，修造船只，并搭救野人"星期五";。正當(dāng)魯濱遜準(zhǔn)備救出一批淪為土人的西班牙船員時(shí)，被一群暴徒劫持，被人送上了荒島。魯濱遜又一次表現(xiàn)出超常的勇氣，他單槍匹馬地打敗暴徒，救出船員，奪回大船，完畢了自己的荒島生活。一次，他乘船前往南美洲時(shí)，途中遇上大風(fēng)，船翻了，同伴們都死了，只有魯濱遜一個(gè)人幸運(yùn)地生存下來(lái)。魯濱遜被大浪沖到海島邊.這是一個(gè)荒蕪人煙的海島。面臨著這惡劣的環(huán)境，又冷又餓的他不知怎樣生活下去。終于，魯濱遜憑著自己的毅力戰(zhàn)勝了一切。

ItseemedtobesuchacoincidencethatthenightafterIfinishedreadingTheLifeAndAdventuresOfRobinsonCrusoe,Iwastodineinarestaurantdistinctlyrelatedtothebookitself.ThisrestaurantwasnootherthanthefamousAmerican-styled“Friday’s.〞Thereasonformentioningthisrestaurantisquitestraightforwardtoallthegentlemen,ladiesandchildrenwhohavereadthenovelandenjoyedit,whichisthefactthatthisrestaurantwas,mostlikely,namedaftertheAmericanNativeinRobinsonCrusoe,calledFriday.Thisrestaurantoffersveryexceptionalservice,forinstancewhenthewaitressesareaskedtoorderdishestheykneelratherthanstand,which,unliketheotherrestaurantsIhavebeento,makesiteasierforthecustomerstohearthemspeak.Moreover,Friday’sfriendlyservicestothecustomershelpthemtomakebetterchoiceswhenorderingdishes.IrememberedwhenIwenttoFriday’slasttime;thewaitresskindlydescribedtheitemsonthemenuwithprecisedetails.ItturnedoutthattheboIinitiallywantedwasdesignedtobesharedamongalargegroup,nottobeeatenbyoneperson.IthinkthisrestaurantshowsmanymendablefeaturessimilartothatofFriday.

Fridaybroughtemotionalwarmthtothepeoplearoundhimwithhisappealingpersonality.IthinkitwasthispersonalitythataffectedCrusoeandmadehimsaythathelovedFridaywhenCrusoedidn’texpressloveforhisparents,brothers,sisters,orevenhiswife.“Whenheespiedme,hecamerunningtome,layinghimselfdownagainupontheground,withallthepossiblesignsofanhumble,thankfuldisposition,makingmanyanticgesturestoshowit…toletmeknowhowhewouldservemeaslongashelived.〞ThiswaswhatFridaydidafterCrusoehadrescuedhimfromthetwosavageschasinghim.ItwaseasyformetoseewhyCrusoehadlovedFriday.Aftersometime,CrusoeandFridayweretorescueFriday’sfather.WhenFridayreunitedwithhisfather,thescenewaseasytomoveanyone:“ItwouldhavemovedanyonetotearstohaveseenhowFridaykissedhim,embracedhim,huggedhim,cried,laughed,halloed,jumpedabout,danced,sung;andthensungandjumpedaboutagain,likeadistractedcreature.ItwasagoodwhilebeforeIcouldmakehimspeaktome.〞Thisismyfavouritechapterinthewholebook.ItishardtoseewhyFridayisanex-savagewhenhecanhavepersonalitiesmorepraiseworthythanmanycivilizedpeople,viz.Crusoehimself.“Whenhe(Friday)wenttohim(Friday’sfather),hewouldsitdownbyhim,openhisbreast,andholdhisfather’sheadclosetohisbosom,halfanhourtogether,tonourishit;thenhetookhisarmsandankles,whichwerenumbedandstiffwiththebinding,andrubbedthemwithhishands.〞Furthermore,Friday’sexpressionofloyaltyinaskingCrusoetokillhimratherthanleavehimismoreheartfeltthananythingCrusoeeversaysordoes.
