Theresearchersbelievethatourexperiencewithfacesexplainsthisadvantage.Thistheoryissupportedbythefactthattheadvantagewasonlyobtainedforfacesencodedintheuprightorientation,withwhichwearemostfamiliar.Facesthatwereencodedupside-downshowednoadvantageoverotherobjects.
