TherearealotofthingsinoureducationalsystemthatIdon,tagree
with.Itseemsthateducatorsjustwanttogivestandardizedtests,which
focusonlyonacademicperformancebutneglectstudents,abilitiesand
interestsinotherareas.IthinkthereJrealotofpeoplewhoarevery
intelligent,buthaven'thadtheopportunitiestheycould,vehad,had
theybeeneducatedinabroader-mindededucationalsystems.Ifeelthat
alotofcoursesthatstudentsarefocusedtotakeinhighschoolaretoo
academic,and,asaresult,manykidslosttheirinterestinlearning.
Educatorshavefailedtorecognizevariouskindsofintelligence.They
oftenexertalotofpressureonstudentstobeaswell-roundedaspossible.
Ithinkbeingwell-roundedisn,treallypossible.Andasaconsequence
somestudentswhoarebelievedtobeintelligentcan,tgetintogood
collegesifthey,forexample,haven'tscoredwellonthemathsection,
eveniftheyatebrilliantwriters.
Anotherthingthatdisturbsmeisthattheso-called“weakstudents”
areseparatedfromtherestoftheschool.Somekidsarekeptinaseparate
classidtheirgradesarelowerthenothers.Andthey'veveryawareof
theirsocialposition,youknow.Ithinkitcausesthemtoactinaway
