Procedure

Warm-Up

Tobeginthelesson,theteacherwillaskstudentssomequestionsrelatedtofood,like:

Whatisyourfavoritefood?

Doyoulikespicyfood?

Doyoulikesweetfood?

Theteacherwilldisplaypicturesofsomepopulardishesfromaroundtheworldandaskthestudentstonamethem.

Theteacherwillbrieflytalkaboutdifferenttypesofrestaurants(fastfood,sit-down,buffet)andwhatisexpectedwhenorderingatarestaurant.

Presentation

Theteacherwillintroducethevocabularywordsrelatedtoorderingfoodatarestaurant.Someofthevocabularywordsinclude:order,menu,appetizer,maincourse,dessert,drink,water,juice,soda,coffeeandtea.

Theteachercanuseflashcardsoraudiorecordingstohelpstudentsrecognizethepronunciationofeachword.

Theteachercanspellouteachwordonthewhiteboardandhavestudentsrepeatafter.

Practice

Theteachercandividetheclassintopairsandhaveeachpairpracticeorderingfoodatarestaurant.Onestudentcanbethewaiterandtheothercanbethecustomer.
